Dekwaneh Public Library Inauguration – Literacy & Basic Education Project On April 19th, 2017, RCBC held the inauguration ceremony of the Dekwaneh public library; in the presence of Rotarians and Non-Rotarians and the representative of the Minister of culture. The inauguration received a significant media exposure and was broadcasted on TV & e-News and mentioned in local newspapers and magazines. The mayor sent a thank you letter addressed to the club members thanking them for the support in providing education material to the residents of the area. It is important to note that this is the 4th container we bring to Lebanon and the 4th public library we fill in collaboration with the Second Wind Foundation USA. US$ 400,000 Project
Discounted promotions Horsh Beirut Project The Rotary Club Beirut Cedars 2017 Project is to make a permanent contribution to a historic Beirut landmark and Beirut’s only “green area” by renovating Horsh Park with beautiful, eco-friendly benches and recycling bins and upgrading the two-kilometer running track with Track Signage, 100-Meter Markers and an attractive all-weather Running/Jogging Surface. Non-Violence Media Dissemination Tool Developing a professional media tool for intellectual debate Below are some expected figures of and for the dissemination of reference, comprehensive and targeted audience for some of the projects first-of-a-kind library that collects the Arabic and adopted for this year international production and heritage on non-violence, civil education, non-sectarianism and human rights. Cyber Addiction project Aims to increase knowledge and awareness about substance use, cyber addiction and parental skills among more than 20,000 parents in Beirut, Metn, Jbeil and Mount Lebanon. At least 20,000 parents will directly have increased knowledge about the dangers of substance use and the basics of parental skills. As we will be investing in digital media, we will expect a minimum of 100.000 additional reach in total. Attendance participate in the celebration of the national day of Non-Violence on October 2nd 2018. 1. Unveil in a first Arab capital, Beirut, an edition of the universal "sculpture of non-violence” 2. Unveil in the 5 other regions (Mouhafazat) then Beirut 5 artistically painted fiberglass replicas (Length 100 cm) of the universal "sculpture of non- violence” to be put in 5 selected municipalities. Each of the 5 sculptures will be designed differently (total 5) 3. Distribute a 19cm replica to 5 Mayors’ offices with the same design selected for that municipality (Total 5) 4. Keep 19cm replicas of the 5 designs at the Rotary club and AUNOHR (total 10) 5. Several metal pins of the sculptures will be also distributed to the attending VIP of unveiling ceremonies 6.
