Batu Ampar Container Port LOCATION: Batam Island 1. North pier about 970 meters long (650 meter was built in 2015 and 300 meter was built in 1991). 2. East pier about 250 meters long (built in 1978) 3. South pier about 450 meters long (build in 1991). 4. Reclaimed land about 2 hectare 5. Total area of land ready for Container Yard about 10 hectare located at the • U Shape harbor widht 250 meter northern side of the port • Currently served both container and loose cargo directly behind the old • Loading and unloading capacity 6 boxes per hour north pier. • There are warehouses and tank farms on the northern side of the port which need to be dismantle 6. Depht of the port is varied from 4 meter to 13 meter.
BATU AMPAR PORT EXPANSION PLAN Extend lenght of North pier by a further 350 meter Old Berth Revitalisation Install modern container handling equipments to increase load/unloading capacity to 30 boxes per hour. Batu Ampar Port Expansion Plan for South , East, and Old North Berth Deepened the port to 13 meter through out the entire area. Investor task in Operate South Berth which include: • Dredging Channel • Revitalization wharf fin reinforce Srenghten existing South and East pier old Berth as well as the old North pier. • Provide HMC , Crane Stacker, Fork Lift • Rebuild and Leveling Container . • Building, Warehouse, Offices.
PROPOSED JOINT – OPERATION SCHEME The port will be offered to investor under a Joint – Operation scheme. Period of the concession is between 30-50 years. Because existing South Pier is already operating for the past 30 years and has been generating revenues, BIFZA will require the choosen investor to pay annual rent to compenstate for loss of income due to the transfer of the operation from BIFZA to Investor. Investor is expected to invest in the construction of the North pier extension of 300 meter, expansion of existing container yard by another 20 hectare and construction additional pier on the south side if the volume waranted, deepened the port to a depth of around 13 m, and install relevant and required equipments and systems to support an efficient modern and dependable container handling and general port operation with a capacity to handle 30 boxes of container per hour. Up front payment of Rp 400 billion to compenstate BIFZA for the construction and land reclaimation of the North pier extension project completed in 2015.
