Welcome Prayer Leader: Our Schools need the support of all parents. Each one has his or her unique contribution to make; some special quality that can help build a community that really cares for children. Let us pray that all parents will experience a sense of warmth and welcome, and that there will be a rich sharing of ideas, talents and enthusiasm as together we go about our work of helping our children to grow and learn.
All: Lord Jesus, you are with us now. Help us recognise your presence in each other. May friendship flourish here. Fill us with a deep sense of peace. Inspire us to listen with attention and patience to each other, to share with courage and generosity, and to welcome the ideas of all. May this meeting of ours strengthen our friendship, build our community and increase our confidence in ourselves and our school. Amen

LUNCH TIME & LUNCH BOX GCPS have alternative lunch breaks and play times within the lower and upper grades. All grades eat at the same time in allocated seating areas. However, the junior and senior classes have separate playtimes. Prep - Year 2 have playtime together during the first lunch break from 10:40 am-11:20 am. Prep children will have access to classroom refrigerators. A large lunchbox is often hard for them to manage on their own and takes up a lot of space in the fridges.
PARENT BODY Good Counsel recognises the importance of parents as the first educators of their children and actively encourages parental involvement. Through the Parents and Friends Association, parents have a role in determining future direction for the school. Parents are also encouraged to assist in classrooms so that children can enjoy their presence at school. Family Fun Nights are organised by the P & F and have been very successful opportunities for families to meet and mix socially. They also promote and celebrate the importance of families spending time and having fun together.
