14 – 17 March 2019 ____________________________________________________________________________ APELDOORN Apeldoorn, a city with an extraordinary combination of nature, culture and urban amenities. Together with the beautiful, picturesque villages a stone’s throw away, this city will show you the best of the Veluwe region. Apeldoorn is surrounded by all the green from the Veluwe, but also by the cityscape. Discover the art and culture, a wide range of shops and all the top attractions. The city centre of Apeldoorn is known for a vary range of shops. With the Hoofdstraat, side streets and the squares you will find more than 2 kilometres of shopping area. Visit Apenheul, a forest full of free running monkeys. Between the greenery, more than half of the monkeys simple loose between the visitors. Also word visiting is Julianatoren, with over 60 attractions and various shows you can spend the day over here and have fun. You can enjoy the beautiful nature area in and around Apeldoorn even more if you go walking or cycling through one of the most beautiful National Park in the Netherlands; ‘National park De Hoge Veluwe’. There is a world to discover in the park and the possibilities are almost unlimited. So grab your bike and discover this park! One of the other highlights is Paleis het Loo, the former residence of the Dutch Royal family. Unfortunately Paleis het Loo is closed at the moment, due some renovation work. GENERAL INFORMATION ON THE TRACK OFFICIAL SITE OF THE COMPETITIONS Omnisport Apeldoorn is a modern location for sport and business events. Omnisport has an A-status and is the only velodrome of the Netherlands were European or World Championships (Para) Track cycling and athletics can be held. Besides its usefulness for cycling or athletics, Omnisport has plenty of space to transform into a concert or congress location or even a tennis court. Omnisport almost offers 6.500 m2 of space. The official training schedule will be published after the end of the registration period. ACCOMMODATION & TRANSPORTATION UCI Official Hotel & Hotels reserved for the teams: For all guests interested in staying at the official hotel or team hotels during the UCI Para-cycling Track World Championships, please make all bookings by filling in the booking form. Especially for the World Championships we made a selection of hotels in Apeldoorn. The hotels are offering an attractive room rate including breakfast, sport meals for lunch and dinner upon request, free WIFI, free parking on-site and possibilities for bike storage. INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
The nearest international airport is Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.
Distance to the velodrome: 100 km (approximately 1 hour and 15 minute drive).
TRAIN
It’s also possible to take the train from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport to the central train station of
Apeldoorn (approximately 1 hour and 15 minute). More information can be find on www.ns.nl/en

Teams can access their storage room from 12 March. Teams can collect their key on Monday 12
March at the accreditation Centre. We ask a deposit of € 50.- for the key, deposit can be paid cash
only. Please return the key on Sunday 17 March.

CLASSIFICATION

Athletes are requested to come at the classification with their bicycle, cycling clothes, cycling shoes
and medical documents.
Classification Schedule:
11 – 12 March 2019 from about 08:00 to 18:00 pm
The Medical Diagnostics Forms must be sent to the UCI file share server four (4) weeks before the
event. The forms can be downloaded here:

The detailed classification schedule will be published on the UCI website (www.uci.ch) three weeks
before the event.

TEST EVENTS
Two test events will be organised during the 2019 UCI Para-cycling Track World Championships in
Apeldoorn:
- 1 km Tandem Mixed Team Sprint:
This event is similar to the Mixed C1-5 Team Sprint, but adapted for tandems. A team is
composed one (1) male tandem and one (1) female tandem from the same nation, each of

whose tandems shall lead for two (2) laps. It’s a standing start, and both tandems will start at
the same time. The changeover zone is the same as used in the Mixed C1-5 Team Sprint, and
only one team compete on the track at a time. The winner is determined by the fastest time.
Participation is limited to one (1) team per nation.
- Omnium (C1, C2, C3, C4 and C5, men and women):
The Omnium is composed of four (4) events: Flying 200m, 1km/500m, Pursuit, Scratch. The
individual events in the Omnium will be both stand-alone events (counting for the World
Championships) and be part of the overall Omnium title, with the exception of the Flying
200m. The Flying 200m event will not have an individual medal and will only be used as a part
of the Omnium. For these four (4) events, each winner shall be awarded 40 points, each
second place shall be awarded 38 points, each third place shall be awarded 36 points, etc.
Riders ranked 21st and below shall each be awarded 1 point. The winner of the Omnium shall
be the rider who has obtained the highest total of points. Participation is limited to two (2)
riders per sport class per nation.
Tests events do not count for the UCI Ranking and do not award a World Champion’s title. Nations
wishing to enter atheletes in the above test events shall register on the UCI online registration system.
VISAS
Is your team participating at the UCI Para-Cycling Track World Championships in Apeldoorn and in
need of a Visa? Your National Cycling Federation should contact the organisation, requesting an
invitation letter for each participant. Please provide the name, date of birth and title of each person
(rider, staff) in order to provide the proper letters
After the request is received, the application will be processed. The organisation will send the
individual invitation letters for all participants back to the National Cycling Federation. Riders and
staff can take this letter to apply for their visa at the Dutch embassy.
When you apply for your Visa at the Dutch embassy in your country you need to bring your invitation
letter from the organisation, that states you are a participant during the UCI Para-Cycling Track World
Championships.
