The main objective of the society has always been promoting education to all the citizens, through its motto “HUMANISE, EQUALISE, SPIRITUALISE” RIZVI COLLEGE OF ARCHITECTURE is approved by COUNCIL OF ARCHITECTURE, the highest Architectural governing body of India. It is also approved by University Grants Commission (U.G.C) and affiliated to MUMBAI UNIVERSITY. Rizvi College of Architecture is among the best colleges of Maharashtra,India. Rizvi College of Architecture (RCA) has a faculty with rich national and international professional experience and high standard of academic background. APPLICATION PROCEDURE FOR B.ARCH For First year 2020-2021 Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) will release the notification for Admission to First Year of Architecture (B.Arch.) in Government, Government Aided and Unaided Institutes for the Academic Year 2020-2021. The Directorate of Technical Education, Mumbai is the Competent Authority for admission to First Year Degree Architecture 2020-21. • Candidates aspiring to take Admission should have obtain qualifying Marks in NATA 2020 or obtained Non Zero Positive Score in JEE (Main) Paper II. • Aspirants should first check the eligibility criteria before filling the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) Application Form. • The complete detail of DTE Maharashtra Architecture Admission 2020 such as Application Form, Eligibility Criteria, Selection Process, etc. is given • on the DTE website http://www.dtemaharashtra.gov.in/index.html APPLICATION PROCEDURE FOR B.ARCH For Second year 2020-2021 Eligible candidates for Admission to Second year B.Arch degree course at Rizvi College of Architecture(Mumbai University) for the academic year 2020-21. *The admission will be granted to eligible candidate as per guidelines of DTE.* The following is the eligibility criteria: • The student should have passed Semester 1 and Semester 2 at the time of admission. • The application of the applicant should be accompanied with NOC and migration certificate of previous college. • Copies of all the certificates on the basis of which admission was granted to first year B.Arch course in the year 2019-20. The relevant documents required: 1. 10th /SSC marksheet. 2. 10+2(Science) marksheet or its equivalent i.e. 3 years Diploma certificate approved by Central/ State Government. 3. Copy of Leaving Certificate of Junior college. 4. Caste certificate, Non creamy layer certificate and Caste validity certificate for reserved category students etc. 5. Migration certificate. 6. Nata/JEE main marksheet. 7. Domicile certificate. 8. Any Other certificate on the basis of which admission was granted in first year B.Arch. 6
B.ARCH CURRICULUM The B.Arch course which is spread over a period of five years is divided into 10 semesters. The First year takes care of foundation subjects which introduces students coming from different backgrounds to a world of design . Design thinking is developed during this year along with graphical skills that form the core language of design . Different types of skills like sketching free hand , model making , drafting are honed . Second year usually expects students to implement their basic design skills into more realistic spaces and understanding of spatial aspects is developed where students also document some rural habitats and vernacular practices involved in our country even today. Third year imparts an advanced level of technical knowledge combined with design thinking and philosophy that expects students to work on large scale commercial projects in an urban environment. Serious issues of affordable and sustainable housing are tackled in Fourth year along with advance technical subjects like building services and construction. Students venture out towards the second half of the year to intern with professionals in the industry and get an insight on the practice that exists . Finally the Fifth year allows students to research and design on a topic of their interest which culminates into an architectural design thesis . 7

M.ARCH CURRICULUM M.ARCH (URBAN DESIGN) MUMBAI UNIVERSITY | 2 YEARS COURSE We offer a regular M. Arch postgraduate course in Urban Design of two-year duration open to students with a B.Arch. qualification. This course is designed to enhance the skills of, young aspiring architects to be involved in the active planning and design of urban settlements which are under rapid transformation in India. This course would prepare a student to work within the planning framework in our context with government institutions, non- governmental institutions and other private agencies. INTERIOR DESIGN COURSE RIZVI INSTITUTE OF INTERIOR DESIGN was established in 2003. It offers a 2 year part time Diploma Course in Interior Design. It covers the subjects comprhensively and aims at educating students to become design professionals with all round awareness. The object of this excersize is to formulate (minimum) standards for education in Interior Design to enable the person undergoing such training to be equipped with the necessary skills to perform the task effectively and to discharge responsibilities as a professional Eligibilty : S. S. C. passed with minimum 40% from the Maharastra State Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent. Duration : 2 years (Part Time) Timings : 2.30 pm to 6.30 pm from Monday to Saturday. Semester : June to October and December to April Fees Structure : Tuition Fees Rs. 45000/- per annum 11

PHOTOGRAPHY COURSE The digital age has changed the entire scope, possibilities, and profession of photography. are able to learn and explore image making in powerful new ways. Digital photography has taken us out of the darkroom and into the lightroom— where we can see more, do more, and learn much, much more. Thus,Digital Photography course is for enthusiasts wanting to learn digital photography for first time or build upon existing skills. It‟s for people who want to take photography beyond the simple point-and-shoot experience to more advance skills and techniques. This course will teach some essential things you need to know to get started, and it outlines further resources that you can use to grow as a photographer from a beginning shutterbug. Digital Photography course will reveal that the craft of photography is something almost anyone can learn. This will include guidelines about choosing a digital camera, learning basic features of your camera, selecting image editing software, and basic workflow for processing photos after you take them. The course ends with additional resources that will provide you with even more skills and techniques that will make digital photography fun, enlightening, and maybe even profitable. 13
AR / VR / MR STUDIO The AR/VR/MR Studio (Lab) is a dedicated space for the exploration of cutting-edge immersive technologies physically and imaginatively. The AR/VR/MR Studio is equipped with technologies that include various software and design platforms, multiple headset configurations, workstations, and filming resources to help students experiment and create innovations in architecture design industry. Virtual Reality (VR) is the use of computer technology to create a simulated environment. Unlike traditional user interfaces, VR places the user inside an experience. Instead of viewing a screen in front of them, users are immersed and able to interact with 3D worlds. Augmented reality (AR) is an interactive experience of a realworld environment where the objects that reside in the real world are enhanced by computer-generated perceptual information, sometimes across multiple sensory modalities, including visual auditory, haptic, somatosensory and olfactory. Mixed reality (MR) is the merging of real and virtual worlds to produce new environments and visualizations, where physical and digital objects co-exist and interact in real time. Mixed reality does not exclusively take place in either the physical or virtual world, but is a hybrid of reality and virtual reality. EXCHANGE PROGRAMMES Students at Univeristy of Bratislava having a dialogue and exchange of ideas with Prof. Julia Rizvi college of Architecture has foreign collaborations with universities in Central Europe where our students go for an exchange program. One such recent program was in summer of 2019 where the aim was to understand and reflect the urban, spatial and social topographies within different towns situated along the Danube river. They interacted with students and faculty at university of Budapest , Bratislava , Vienna, Linz and Krems. Our Faculty at Technical University of Vienna, Austria 17
CONFERENCES Architecture and Peoples International Conference Rizvi College of Architecture had organized ‘Architecture & People’ International Conference at its college premises in Bandra, Mumbai on 25th & 26th February 2020. APIC2020 included panel discussions, experts’ speeches, eminent architects’ presentations, students design competition (ASDC2020) & exhibition of ‘Juntamara: The Uncharted Hamlets of Orissa’. Experts from various fields gave us insight into future career prospects through their in-depth analysis and first hand experience. 18
COMPETITIONS Uncharted Hamlet of Jhuntamara Rizvi College of Architecture has won the INTACH Heritage Academy ‘AWARD OF EXCELLENCE - 2019’ (National Level) for the documentation semester of Second Year (2018 Batch). The students had documented the Uncharted Hamlet of Jhuntamara, Odisha, India - Retracing the Abodes of the Forgotten tribe - Jani, with immaculate details and presented the same in the esteemed Intach Heritage Awards 2019. We are thankful to everyone who contributed and achieved the best. 19
COLLABORATION Working along with ANLA to document UNESCO listed Mughal gardens in Srinagar, Kashmir We were presented with the opportunity to work along side with Abha Narain Lambha and Associates, on the documentation of the UNESCO listed Mughals gardens in Kashmir. Our students, successfully Documented, Mapped and Presented detailed drawing of seven Mughal Gardens which will be restored to its glory in time to come. This documentation will be presented to UNESCO for world heritage listing. 20
EXPLORATIONS As a part of our walking lab, We have conducted 6 walks in different pocket of the city, with experts to know more nuances about the area and it’s related Architecture.
