IMA COMMUNITY SERVICE DAY , STATE PALLIATIVE CARE
DAY OBSERVANCE BY IMA TRIVANDRUM BRANCH in
Association with Regional Cancer Centre Trivandrum and Magic
Planet 15th January 2021

A team of 54 palliative care patients and their caretakers were taken to MAGIC PLANET ,
kazhakootam under the banner of IMA trivandrum along with our members where they spend a
whole day with children of differentially abled, their mothers , and visiting various venues and
talent shows inside the PLANET campus. They were shown differently ways of skilful
occupational jobs and made to listen motivational talks by Gopinath Muthucad, Mr
Chandrasenan Mridumala( Director Magic Planet ) and various others .

The trip was flagged off from RCC campus by Addl Director Dr Sajeed along with IMA
trivandrum President Dr Prasanth CV . Dr Sreejith R Swc member , Dr Swapna S Kumar, Joint
Secretary, Dr Arun SV , executive committe member, Dr Unnikrishnan, exe commitee member
were present .

At 1 pm , the official meeting of IMA COMMUNITY SERVICE DAY was inaugurated by Hon
.minister Sri Kadakampally Surendran. Dr Prasanth CV , President IMA trivandrum gave
the message . Gopinath Muthucaud, Dr Sajeed Addl Director RCC , Chandrasenan Mridumala,
Dr Siby Kurian Philip, secretary IMA Trivandrum gave the felicitation . There was a
community lunch with Palliative care patients, volunteers and the officials after the meeting
.Meeting was conducted with Covid Protocols

LAUNCH OF " GIFTS N HUGS" , IMA Charity Shop by IMA TRIVANDRUM BRANCH
hall , by Hon MP Suresh Gopi at 4.30 pm on JAN 15 , followed by LIVE music band . The
official meeting was chaired by Shri.Suresh Gopi MP who gave a lecture on various charity
programs and how to improve the life of Palliative care patients on his personal experiences . Dr
Sreejith N Kumar, Past State President IMA KSB presided the meeting . Dr Prasanth CV ,
President IMA Trivandrum gave the Presidential Address . Dr Siby Kurian Philip Secretary
IMA trivandrum gave the vote of thanks . Meeting was attended by members of IMA
trivandrum , DC convener Dr binoy S , and various palliative care volunteers.Event was
released LIVE in FB

‘GIFTS N HUGS’ has GIFTS made by Patients on palliative care , other differently abled
catering institutions, orphanages and also from few branded shops .

We have launched T SHIRT Printing , Personalised Mug cups (according to your needs and can
put your picture on it ) coffee mugs, car stickers , Hand made jewels and much more .Plz visit
our GIFTS N MUGS at IMA BRANCH HALL , General Hospital road . All the profit will be
used for IMA SNEHASANTHWANAM, a palliative care project of IMA Trivandrum .

NATIONAL GIRL CHILD DAY

NATIONAL GIRL CHILD DAY observation by IMA TRIVANDRUM
       BRANCH and WDW TRIVANDRUM BRANCH

IMA Trivandrum branch and WDW TRIVANDRUM BRANCH Observed National Girl child
day on JAN 24 , Sunday from 7.30 pm onwards . A zoom meeting was conducting including
members of WDW . Merin Joseph IPS , SP , Police headquarters, Trivandrum was the chief
guest and Mrs Mona Desa, National WDW chairperson was the guest of honour .Both of them
gave excellent lectures on empowering GIRL CHILD.

Dr Prasanth CV , gave the Presidential Address . Dr Thankam D , WDW Chairperson
welcomed the gathering and explained about the need for observing such a particular day .

Dr Kavitha Ravi, State WDW chairperson, Dr Anupama R, National Joint Secretary Mission
Pink Health , Dr Rajeshwariamma, State in charge of Mission Pink Health , Dr Swapna S
Kumar, South Zone WDW coordinator , Dr Jasmine LB , convener WDW,Dr Siby Kurian ,
secretary IMA Trivandrum gave felicitations .Dr Amba UG, Secretary WDW gave the vote of
thanks . Meeting was attended by 110 members in zoom .

REPUBLIC DAY FLAG HOISTING

Dr Prasanth CV , IMA trivandrum branch President, hoisted the National Flag at
IMA TVM BRANCH Hall Premises . He gave the Presidential Address regarding
the importance of Republic day in today's current scenario . Dr Siby Kurian Philip,
IMA secretary , Dr Thankam D , WDW President, Dr Swapna S Nair, Joint
secretary , Miss Anna, Empower staff, Miss Prasanna, SS1- B secure staff , IMA
staff Vimal were present at the occasion. Meeting concluded with National Anthem.

IMA TRIVANDRUM CALENDAR
 RELEASE AT IMA HQ , JAN 26

State President Dr PT ZACHARIAS and State Secretary Dr Gopikumar P released IMA
TRIVANDRUM CALENDAR for the year 2021 in presence of Past President Dr Alex Franklin
, Past President Dr Vijayakumar, Past Vice President Dr Sulphi Noohu, South Zone WDW
convener Dr Swapna S Kumar, IMA trivandrum branch President Dr Prasanth CV ,
Trivandrum branch secretary Dr Siby Kurian Philip.

The Calendar contains the same format as Kerala govt calendar and also incorporates all the
latest IMA special days as in Green book 2021 .

Copies of the calendar can be collected from IMA Trivandrum branch office , RED CROSS ,
General hospital road ..

IMA TRIVANDRUM BRANCH in association with WOMAN
     DOCTORS WING , TRIVANDRUM AND MISSION PINK
     HEALTH project, conducted MPOWER GIRL EMPOWER
                    NATION health education
    sessions for ADOLESCENT GIRLS on 29/01/2021 at 3 pm at
               MAHILAMANDIRAM, POOJAPPURA.

WDW TVM chairperson Dr Thankam welcomed the meeting. Sessions on menstrual
hygiene and health issues was conducted by Dr Anupama R Immediate past President
IMA TVM, National joint secretary,Mission pink health ,Chief consultant gynecologist
PRAN hospital Kumarapuram,Trivandrum.
 Sessions on Anemia and food habits was conducted by Dr Thankam. D Physician ,SK
hospital. 43 girls at MAHILAMANDIRAM attended the sessions of which 33 were below
18 years girls. Dr Amba.U.G ,WDW TVM Secretary addressed the meeting and
conducted Hemoglobin estimation for 36 girls from which nine were found to be anemic.

Vote of thanks by Dr. Yamini Thankachy past WDW TVM chairperson, Mission Pink
Health project tvm coordinator. IMA TRIVANDRUM BRANCH donated for one day"s
dinner following healthy food plate protocols for the inmates of Mahila Mandiram.

GENERAL BODY MEETING

      January 29

IMA Trivandrum branch conducted it's 3rd general body meeting on JAN 29, 2021@7.30 pm
        on Zoom platform.CME on Current Trends in Cancer Care was taken by Dr
   JayaprakashMadhavan, Senior Consultant , Radiation Oncology, Kims cancer centre .

  The General body meeting Commenced at 8 pm with Flag Salutation by Secretary Dr Siby
  Kurian Philip . Welcome and Presidential Address was done by Dr Prasanth CV . Then he
   welcomed the new members via a slide show . Inauguration of ZOOM TV , consisting of
 educational and entertainment programs by IMA TRIVANDRUM BRANCH was announced
                                     by the President .

 Report of this month's activity till date and minutes of last GB was read by Secretary Dr Siby
                                           Kurian Philip .

  Plan of action regarding RELAY SATYAGRAHA from Feb 1 to 14 against mixopathy was
  discussed . Trivandrum branch is supposed to conducted Relay Satyagraha on Feb 2 ,and the
appeal to the members to volunteer for satyagraha was made .Various other issues related to the
 profession were discussed including KGMCTA strike , Membership campaign in the first two
 weeks of February. Members were requested to collect the yearly IMA calendar from branch
 office. Dr Abhilash Balsalam said the Vote of thanks . Meeting was attending by around 120
