The Village of Kimberly Newsletter Winter 2019 President’s POINT OF VIEW Imagine . . . A look into the future of our Fox Cities home On October 2nd, I attended a summit to learn of the findings from our children’s grandchildren, we need to expand our collective surveys and some eighty listening sessions held throughout the vision. We need to be using our civic muscle to include more communities that make up the Fox Cities region. You may have people in decision making, ask more questions, and have a deeper already heard about this community visioning project known as understanding of topics that impact the view of “well-being” for “Imagine Fox Cities”. I was a part of listening sessions which all who call the Fox Cities home. For us to be intentional about were focused on understanding levels of “well- being” and to the future, we need to dig deeper into those things that diminish discern what “vision” was held for our children’s grandchildren the feeling of well-being. Whether that be more aggressive if they choose to call the Fox Cities home. Once again for your convenience, CAPITAL CREDIT UNION, Kimberly location ONLY, will collect taxes for the Village of Kimberly. ANY RESIDENT, not just members, can pay their taxes at the Capital location in Kimberly. They offer extended hours and easy drive-through access. Please pay taxes early to avoid the rush, or use the PAYMENT DEPOSITORY located by the west library entrance. DO NOT place tax bills or utility payments in the Library Book Return. The PAYMENT DEPOSITORY offers additional security and safety measures. Remember, the Library staff CANNOT collect tax bills. All supplies and instruction are included in this fun and creative class. Advanced registration is required to ensure we have adequate supplies for all in attendance, for participants age 8+ please register by December 18th. Class held on December 27th, 10:00 a.m. – Noon. Course Fee $25.00 Rock Mandalas Class – Enjoy this relaxing class on New Year’s Eve. Program includes all supplies and instruction needed to create beautiful rock mandalas. Preregistration is required to ensure adequate program supplies for all in attendance. Participants age 8+. Class held on December 31st, 10:00 a.m. – Noon. Course Fee $15.00 Babysitting Certification Class – Are you interested in earning money by becoming a certified babysitter? Course content provided by Tanya R, CPR. Located at the Municipal Complex – Aspen/Birch Room. Pizza Party lunch is provided. Participants age 10 and older. Class held on Monday, December 30th, 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Course Fee $65.00 Youth CPR/AED & First Aid – Do you need First Aid and CPR Certification? This 8 hour class is open to youth age 12-17. Students will learn CPR/AED skills and choking emergency management for the Adult, Child, and Infant. Students will also learn the basics of First Aid. Upon successful completion of the class, students will receive an American Heart Association CPR/AED & First Aid course completion card (valid for 2 years), and a digital quick-guide for First Aid. Pizza Party Lunch will be provided, feel free to bring snacks and beverages as needed throughout the day. Class held on Friday, February 14th, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Course Fee $65.00 Kidstage – Frozen is the timeless tale of two sisters, pulled apart by a mysterious secret. As one young woman struggles to find her voice and harness her powers within, the other embarks on an epic adventure to bring her family together once and for all. Both are searching for love. They just don’t know where to find it. This musical calls for kids ages 4-12 to join the cast of one of Broadway’s newest smash hits! Class held Thursday evenings January 13th - March 19th with a showcase at St. Mary Central High School on March 20th and 21st. Course Fee $85.00 12U Regional Baseball – Registration is now open with league starting in May and ends mid-July. All game times will be at either 5:00 p.m. or 6:30 p.m. and will be hosted between Freedom, Little Chute, and Kimberly fields. The mission of the Kimberly Recreation baseball program is to develop teamwork, good sportsmanship, and skill development in a fun environment. All leagues are coached by adult volunteers. Coaches and participants receive a team jersey. Baseballs, bats, helmets, and catchers gear are all provided. Players are welcome to use their own equipment. Kimberly hat & gray pants are required. All items are available for purchase at the Recreation office. Coaches needed, please indicate interest in coaching when registering! Participants ages 11-12 as of 8/31/2020. Village of Kimberly • 2020 Garbage and Recycling Calendar Garbage Collection is on Tuesdays for residents who live north of the railroad tracks and on Fridays for residents who live south of the railroad tracks. See calendar below for any changes to your pick up day because of a holiday. For additional information regarding garbage collection see Automated Garbage Rules on reverse side. Recycling is picked up Monday thru Thursday in the Village of Kimberly. If you don’t know your day of pick up, please call the Street Department at 788-7507.
