ilver Threads SPRING 2021 THE UPPER ARLINGTON COMMISSION ON AGING SERVES AS THE INFORMED VOICE FOR EMPOWERING, EDUCATING, AND ENRICHING THE LIVES OF UPPER ARLINGTON RESIDENTS AS WE AGE. Dear Upper Arlington Neighbor, The Commission on Aging, Upper Arlington City leadership, and other local organizations are dedicated to understanding: What is important to you as you age in Upper Arlington? With that in mind, the Commission is conducting an Older Adult Community Survey. A cornerstone of our work is understanding the needs of our older adult population, then meeting those needs through the programs and advocacy efforts. If you are selected to participate in the survey, you will receive a mailed package from The Commission on Aging and the ETC Institute. The survey can be completed on paper or online. If you are not randomly selected you will have a second opportunity to participate in the survey on paper or online. We want to hear the thoughts from as many residents as possible as your experiences and ideas are of utmost importance to us. The results of the assessment will directly inform the Upper Arlington Commission on Aging’s process of community-wide improvements for social participation, transportation, housing, and more. We want to hear from you on a number of topics to understand how we can work together to help make our community an even better place to age. I want to take the opportunity to thank my fellow Commission on Aging board members, UA City staff, and older adults who all participated in the creation of this survey. Jennifer and I are so thankful for the time and energy you all put into this. Finally, thank you to everyone reading this newsletter for your consideration of taking the survey. We could not do this work without you and are so grateful for your contribution to improvements in our community. Sincerely, Katie White, Chairman Jennifer Monroe-Sega, Executive Director UA Commission on Aging UA Commission on Aging
