Home Industries Section for the 2021 Show.

Due to this, the winners in each section will receive the following

GENERAL CONDITIONS – PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

The Association will not under any circumstances hold itself responsible for any
loss, damage or miss delivery of any exhibit. Notwithstanding the Association
will use its best endeavours to attend to the interest of the exhibitors.
Extra entry forms and all particulars may be had on application to the Secretary.

All Trophies to be returned engraved to the Secretary prior to the Show, at
                      the cost of the exhibitor winner.

                    Entries close Monday 18th January 2021

Stewards will be in attendance.
All exhibits in cooking, preserves, needlework and hand spun wool must be
delivered to the pavilion at the Showgrounds between 10.30-11.30am on Friday
22nd January 2021.

Exhibits by post must reach Levin not later than 5pm on Wednesday 20th
January 2021 and will be delivered to the pavilion free of charge.

ALL ENTRY FEES 70cents                    NO LATE ENTRIES.

No more than 3 entries per class, except for cooking section limited to 2
entries per class.
No gate passes issued.
No exhibitor will be allowed to collect their exhibit until approx 5pm on
Sunday 19th January 2021. Cooking, Jams & Handspun from the East
Door and Knitting, Needlework & Juniors from the West Door.

Points to count: When entries are 5 or over: First prize 6, second prize 4, third
prize 2, VHC 1 point. When entries are under 5: First prize 6, second prize 4,
third prize 2. In the case of ties for points prizes, most first to count. Where
there is an equal the points are given in full to each exhibitor but the prize money
is halved.
Prize money: 1st $10, 2nd $6, 3rd $4 unless otherwise stated. Where there is
a sponsored prize or product there will be no prize money. When sending in
entries reference to Class number only will be sufficient.

Most points in each of the five sections prizes will be awarded 1st $20.00 2nd
$10.00

the exhibitor gaining most points in Classes 1-58 (inclusive). Points must be
gained in each of the four sections – (cooking, jams, needlework and knitting).

      Recipe
      3 cups plain Flour (or use self-raising and omit the baking powder)
      3 tsp Baking Powder           2 tsp Sugar         1 tsp Salt
      375ml Beer (or make up with water)
      Toppings
      Finely chopped onion or red onion, grated cheese,
      sprinkle of Paprika and/or Oregano, Salt & Pepper,
      extra Virgin Olive Oil for drizzling
      Some other ideas; Olives; Capers; Parmesan; chopped Sun-dried
      Tomatoes; Sunflower, Pumpkin, Sesame, Poppy, Cumin or
      Coriander seeds.
      Method
      Preheat oven to 180⁰c regular bake and line a small/medium loaf tin
      with baking paper. In a large bowl stir to combine the flour, baking
      powder, sugar & salt. Pour in the beer/water and stir again to combine into
      a sticky dough. Scrape into the prepared tin with a spatula and smooth
      out. Sprinkle with any toppings and drizzle with olive oil.
      Bake in the oven for 40 minutes – it will have risen and puffed up and
      golden.

   Theme is “Royal”
   Quilt Size must be 12” x 12”
   Quilted by hand, machine or both. Quilting is defined as a running stitch
    that passes through top, middle layer (batting) and backing. Tied quilts are
    not eligible
   Your entry can be inspired by! – but not a copy of others work.
   Must have a recognisable piece of fabric supplied by Fox’s Cottage
    incorporated into the quilt. This will be a 5” square and will cost each
    person 50c – exhibitor can use more or less as long as we can recognise it.
    This can be picked up from our shop or we can post out if required.

        It is a concern to the committee that the persons responsible for
        removing the Court items are also removing exhibits from other
        areas. Exhibits not pertaining to the Courts are to be collected from
        the Stewards responsible for that section.

MR AM COLQUHOUN donated a perpetual challenge Shield to be competed for
annually and awarded to the Groups and individuals, WI, Rural Women, gaining
most points in Knitting & Needlework Sections. The Shield is to be returned to
the Secretary of the Association in December. The points gained by individuals
in the knitting and needlework sections excluding the court will not count towards
the Shield unless the respective organisation has a court.
MRS IM LANCASTER MEMORIAL CUP is awarded annually for the winning
court
LETT HORTICULTURAL CUP awarded for the best floral exhibit in the court
MRS Z HOOD donated a Perpetual Challenge Trophy for the most outstanding
