HOME REPAIR APPLICATION 2022 Dear Homeowner: CAMP JOY is currently accepting applications for home repairs. Our first work session will be July 10-16, 2022, and our second work session will be July 17-23, 2022. The application deadline is May 15, 2022. The CAMP JOY team is a Christian outreach mission program of the Hancock United Methodist Church in Hancock, Maryland, 21750. OUR PURPOSE is to promote a Christian service through the organized efforts of youth groups, who repair or improve homes in the tri-state region (MD, WV, PA) near Hancock, MD. Individuals and/or families seeking help must meet the selection criteria. Our goal is to enhance the local community while enriching the lives of workers and the homeowners. CAMP JOY can assist area families and individuals with repair and replacement of portions of their homes in order to help make life safer and more comfortable. If your application is accepted, the work that you requested will be completed by volunteers from various youth groups from the Baltimore-Washington area, as well as from the surrounding region. The workers are mostly Christian youth and young adults under the direct supervision of an adult leader(s) from the youth group assigned to complete the task you have requested. CAMP JOY does not charge for service(s); however, donations are gladly accepted. Also, you should understand that we are a volunteer group and limited to only two weeks. For this reason, your request(s) may not be completed. Therefore, we ask that you list on the attached application, those jobs you would consider a priority. IN ORDER TO QUALIFY for assistance, certain guidelines MUST be met: 1. You must own the property where the work is to be done; 2. You must be elderly, or physically handicapped, and living on a very limited and fixed income; (proof of income from the previous year is required) Additional requirements: 1. You will apply for and obtain all permits that may be required to complete the work; 2. You are responsible for the removal of all trash resulting from the work; 3. You or your representative must be present while the work is ongoing and/or completed; This application must include an initialed disclaimer and signature of applicant. January 7, 2022
CAMP JOY teams only work a scheduled work week (Monday-Friday). After your application has been received, members of the team will make arrangements with you to visit and survey the projects you have requested. This site visit will give our team an idea of the scope of the job and the materials we will need to purchase. After our site visit, a decision will be made to accept or reject your work request. Our decision will be based on the guidelines listed above, as well as the urgency of your request and our financial ability to complete the job. CAMP JOY reserves the right to accept or reject any application. Should your application be accepted, you will receive confirmation. COVID-19 Statement Camp Joy will be operating under COVID-19 protection protocols as prescribed by the State Health Departments. As such, if the homeowner or any persons living in the home test positive or are directly exposed to someone testing positive for COVID-19 within 14 days of camp, you must notify CAMP JOY. CAMP JOY reserves the right to cancel services.
