Saturday 4th April - Sunday 19th April 2020 Good morning, Reception, and Happy Easter holidays ! Here are some challenges, activities and fun things to enjoy together over the Easter break.We have also uploaded some separate ideas on the Home Learning page too. Whilst we will not be uploading daily, please do still email us or comment/upload on Tapestry to share what you have been up to. We are really enjoying seeing all your brilliant hard work, and it brightens up every day! Well done Reception, and a big thank you to all your families for being amazing during this tricky time. We will be back with a new set of challenges on Monday 20th April! Miss Ellis and Miss Curd :)
Craft Ideas There are lots of lovely things could make and create at home together, often using everyday items and a little bit of colour! See if you can choose some things to make together at home. We would love to see photos on Tapestry of anything you make!
Easter Egg Craft Ideas Can you decorate a hard-boiled egg? You could paint your design, use craft materials (such as feathers and glitter) or draw your own design! Here are some of our favourites.
Cooking Together! Easter holidays are the perfect time to learn to make and bake some delicious food together! Here are some our favourite things to cook at home.
Our Favourite Recipes! Miss Curd's Mum's Crumble: Pre-heat oven to 200C. 3ozs butter (melt in pan) Then add: 1 ½ oz sugar (any) 3ozs self-raising flour 3ozs fine semolina and mix together well. Cook/prepare your favourite fruit as filling- I like apples and raisins with cinnamon! Spoon the fruit into your ovenproof dish, top with the crumble mix, and then cook for 30 minutes . Allow to cool slightly then enjoy!
Our Favourite Recipes! Miss Ellis's Chocolate Brownies! Pre-heat oven to 160C and line a tin (Approx. 30cm x 23cm) with greaseproof paper. Ingredients - 275g butter (softened) 1. Combine butter and sugars together then add the eggs with a spoonful of the flour. -300g caster sugar 2. Mix in the cocoa powder and remaining flour then stir in -75g brown sugar chocolate chips and marshmallows (if using). -4 eggs 3. Spoon mixture (it will be very thick) into the tin and smooth out. Top with halved cream eggs if desired! -75g cocoa powder 4. Bake for approx 40 mins. If you have used marshmallows, -100g self raising flour cover the tin with foil for the last 10 mins of baking- the -100g milk chocolate chips marshmallows will rise to the surface and may burn -100g white chocolate chips otherwise. Be careful not to overbake, you want a slight wobble in the middle so you have fudgy brownies! Optional: 50g mini marshmallows, cream eggs 5. Leave to cool in the tin. halved. 6. Cut up and enjoy!
Our Favourite Recipes! Miss Ellis's Chocolate Flapjack Pre-heat oven to 160C and line a baking tin (Approx 20cm squared) with greaseproof paper. 1. Put butter, sugar and syrup into a saucepan and Ingredients warm over a gentle heat until sugar has dissolved. 2. Once baked leave to cool. Topping (optional) Topping - 150 g milk or dark chocolate 1. Melt chocolate and pour over flapjack base and leave to cool and harden. 2. Once firm cut into squares. 3. Enjoy!

Animal Challenge! As we have been learning about life cycles this half term, can you choose an animal to find out about? It could be any animal in the world! Here are some of our favourite animals to give you some ideas.

Reading Please keep reading and sharing books together over the Easter break! • Bedtime stories, books with breakfast, sharing non-fiction books together... • You can access books online through Oxford Owl and Pearson's Bug Club (more info on the next page) • Play games on Phonics Play and Phonics Bloom •Spot words and sounds around the house!

Bug Club Pearson are currently offering 90 days free access to their online resources, including Bug Club! This is a great platform for reading eBooks together online, and the books are all banded to match the coloured levels we use at school, e.g. Pink, Red. It's very handy if you have run out of school reading books already! You can also complete quizzes on each book. We will have lots of lovely new things to explore and learn about together after Easter! Each week we will have a P.E. challenge from Mrs After Parfitt for you to try at home. We will also be providing a link to our online Easter... Music programme, Charanga, which Mrs Parfitt and Miss Douglas use on a Monday afternoon, that you can access at your own rate. We will also be starting an exciting new topic... Watch this space!
