Letter from the Editor
Dear Readers,
Himalaya represents a brand new collaboration initiative between the
Sunshine 100 group and KAIA properties, and seeks to revitalize the
hospitality scene and to tap into the demographic changes in China. It
is grounded in Chinese roots and imbued with Chinese philosophy, and
more excitingly, with global aspirations extending far beyond the borders
of the Chinese speaking world.
Tianjin Business Times interviewed Bhupesh Yadav, the Chief Operating
Officer at Himalaya Hospitality International (HHI), and Augustine Markose
Silva, the Regional General Manager of Northern China and the Vice
President of Pre-Opening at HHI.
As a hospitality platform, Himalaya has designed several different product
offerings to meet the multi-faceted needs of its customer base, including
that of the Himalaya Serviced Residences, Himalaya Branded Residences,
Himalaya Hotels and the Himalaya Club.
Although Himalaya has not emerged from the global pandemic
unscathed, it continues to grow and expand, even if at slightly dampened
rates. Right now, Mr Yadav and Mr Silva speak with enthusiasm about the

quarter the gross domestic product (GDP) growth may return to 2% or 3%
as factories step up production. There are still many challenges standing
in the way of recovery, but China is doing all it can to climb out of that
economic decline. In the remainder of 2020, the Chinese economy will
need to show strong recovery, and the recent signs are positive.
