Health and Safety at MacNeill • Welcome to January 2022! • We hope you had a positive and safe Holiday! • The purpose of this presentation is to provide a review of the health and safety practices as we return to school • It will also introduce to some temporary additional practices
Personal and Social Wellbeing •At school we need to your help to: •Take care of ourselves •Take care of others, and •Take care of our place •As Dr Bonnie Henry says,
Daily Health Checks • Everyday before you come to school, you need answer the Health Declaration questions • To access the daily health check, please click here for Daily Health Check • Answering yes to any of the questions in the Daily Health Check, means you will not be able to come to school • Your family will need to contact the school to let us know you will be absent, which is typical any time you are ill
Entering and Exiting MacNeill Use the entrance / exit nearest to your first block classroom • When you arrive at school, you should wash or sanitize your hands
Locker Use Locker use will be limited to: • Before first class • At end of school • Help us to keep our hallways clear
Health & Safety Practices at School Things we will continue doing: • Washing our hands • Covering our sneezes and coughs • Practicing respect for personal space in class, in common spaces, and outside • Do not share food and beverages
Covering your Sneezes and Coughs • Cough or sneeze into your elbow or a tissue • Throw away used tissues and wash your hands • Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands • If you cough or sneeze sanitise or wash your hands right away
Physical Space • Physical space means avoiding crowding others • Think of it as having a big personal space • Avoid lengthy face to face interactions • Physical contact should be avoided • Please do not gather in hallways or other common areas such as the lounge.
Non-medical Masks • You are required to wear a non- medical mask indoors at all times • Ask your teacher for guidance if you have questions.
Wearing it Right: § 3 ply minimum 2 disposable masks are not § No exhalation valves permitted more protective Fit Matters: § Cover breathing zone: chin to nose than 1 § Double mask can enhance fit • disposable mask under well-fitted cloth mask
Lunchtimes • Food and drinks should not be shared • School cafeteria will open for service – pre ordering is preferred. • Cafeteria access is only available during your lunch period. • Lunch will be eaten in classrooms only • Water bottle re-filling stations will be open for use • Hallways and Lounge may not be used during lunch times.
MacNeill Schedule – January 10 – 27th • PLT will happen daily • Sign up will still be online. • All students are expected to sign up for PLT as the lounge will not be available during this time. • We will have a Day 1 / Day 2 Schedule • Students will only attend 2 blocks per day • Lunch times will be staggered to avoid crowding.

Raven ATHLETICS • Team practices and games will be going ahead • Please speak to Mr Li regarding schedules • THERE CAN BE NO SPECTATORS FOR SCHOOL ATHETICS. • THIS INCLUDES MACNEILL STUDENTS ATTENDING OUR OWN SCHOOL TEAM GAMES IN OUR GYM.
After School Expectations • Please exit the building directly after class • Use the closest Exit to your classroom • If you have a later athletics practice you should leave and come back for your practice time • Please do not gather in the lounge after school.
