Overall presentation of the laboratory HISTORY facts Mainly IN2P3, but also INP, INC Created in 1957. 2 labs nuclear spectroscopy and mass spectroscopy merging in 1962 ! CSNSM (1st fusion !) René Bernas, director at the time, Klapisch, Gradztajn,Epherre and Yiou measured p(He)+12C (16O) cosmic ray spallation cross sections to explain problematic Li, Be, B abundances which helped to establish the credibility of Big Bang theory 1975 !Landmark on-line mass spectrometry at CERN, C.Thibault et al. 1975, discovered first island of inversion >700 citations 1976 ! solid state physics, ion separators to implantors (amorpheous matter, doping supra…) 1983 - 2016 Atomic mass evaluation (Audi-Wapstra Mass Table) >1000 citations 1986 !
