Gladstone Men’s Shed ON TUESDAY NOVEMBER 10, THE MANAGEMENT TEAM FROM GLADSTONE PORTS CORPORATION (GPC) PAID A VISIT TO THE GLADSTONE MEN’S SHED AT 18 MOURA CRESCENT. Members of the Gladstone Men’s Shed wanted to show GPC their sincere thanks for the continued support of their Early Childhood Services Project. GPC have been sponsoring the Early Childhood Services Project since 2015, President Ron Steen said, “Since that time almost 2,000 items of furniture and toys have been made by our members and supplied at no cost to the early childhood centres in the region. We estimate that would have saved over $200,000 to those centres if they had to buy the items themselves and of course it has also provided an activity to our members when they come to the Shed.” Despite the disruptions from the COVID limitations of 2020, the requests from the early childhood centres in the Gladstone region have continued to be received regularly throughout the year. Ron continued, “We always have items awaiting collection and more work in progress to be able to demonstrate the popularity of the project.” In addition, the shed has some other interesting projects under construction at the moment, ranging from building our own CNC Router to a 9-hole mini-golf course with highlights of the region, which of course includes East Shores. 19
