The Show Management cannot accept any entry unless submitted on the Official Entry Form and accompanied by a VALID CHECK or MONEY ORDER for the full amount of entry fees, State drug fees, number deposits and Non-Member fees when applicable. Signatures of owner, riders, handlers, coach, trainer and consent for junior exhibitor if appropriate. • Copy of each horse’s registration papers with pedigree. • Copies of your current AHA Competition cards. If you are not a current member of AHA, there is a $35.00 Single Event Membership fee per person. • A $5.00 fee per horse entered for Resolution 9-90. This fee is mandatory and must be included. • A check made payable to RCAHA for all fees included on the entry form. There will be a $40.00 charge per check for any returned checks. TBA List RCAHA has allotted space for 14 TBA classes. TBA classes may be any class on the AHA class list or that is recognized by AHA with the exception of trail, dressage, cutting, reined cow, or hunter/jumper. These classes may be placed throughout the schedule, but there are only 14 total available. TBA Fee is $50/class for regular classes and $75/class for Championship classes plus the class entry fee. TBA’s are given on a first come first served basis only and must be reserved by close of entries with the show secretary. 6
SHOW INFORMATION STABLING INFORMATION There are a limited number of box stalls available and they will be assigned on a “First Come” basis. The stall fee is $95.00. The stalls will be available Oct 1, 2021 and must be vacated by 9:30 PM on October 3, 2021. Stalls have top doors and are of premium wood & wire mesh construction with full swinging doors and dirt floor. Shavings will be available on grounds for purchase. STALL DECORATIONS Stall decorations shall be made of non-flammable or treated material and maintained in flame retardant condition. SHOWING FROM TRAILERS Exhibitors MAY show from their trailers. The trailer-in/grounds fee is $35.00 PER HORSE PER DAY. Every horse entered in these shows MUST pay either a stall fee or trailer-in/grounds fee TRAILER PARKING AREAS As soon as horses are unloaded, vehicles must be moved to designated parking areas. No parking in barn aisles. CLASS CALLS Due to unforeseeable problems with any mechanical devices, the PA system and paddock calls must be considered a courtesy. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to be sure that his/her horse is at the gate at the prescribed time. Every effort will be made to maintain a working PA system to carry class calls; however, no protest will be upheld, nor will any class be changed on the basis of PA malfunction alone. REFUNDS Horses may be scratched from the show at the owner’s option. Refunds of entry fees will be considered for any horse suffering from illness or injury upon the presentation of a veterinarian’s certificate accompanied with a letter explaining the circumstances to the Show Secretary PRIOR to the start of said show. Requests for any refunds due to the illness or injury of the exhibitor, and accompanied with a letter from the doctor, will be considered and will be subject to Management’s decision if they are received PRIOR to the start of said show. ALL REQUESTS MUST BE IN WRITING, ACCOMPANIED BY A VETERINARIANS CERTIFICATE OR DOCTORS LETTER, AND MUST BE RECEIVED BY THE SHOW SECRETARY PRIOR TO THE START OF THE SAID SHOW. On approved refund requests, ONLY class fees will be refunded. NO refunds will be made on stall/ tack/groom rooms, drug fees, resolution fees, office fees or any other fees. All refunds granted will be made by mail in approximately 2 weeks after the show. CANCELLATION OF ENTRY To encourage early entries, the Management agrees to cancel and refund entry stall and all fees on any horse not fit to show provided written or email notification is given to the Show Secretary nharvey440@aol.com on or before entry closing date. SCRATCHING OR CANCELING CLASSES - As a COURTESY to the GATEMAN, ANNOUNCER and SHOW OFFICE exhibitors are requested to notify the GATEMAN and SHOW OFFICE when it is necessary to scratch or cancel a class entered. This courtesy will enable the Show to run more efficiently. Your consideration will be greatly appreciated. 7
SHOW INFORMATION TROPHIES AND RIBBONS Trophies will be presented to first place with ribbons to first through sixth in all regular halter and performance classes, and first through eighth in equitation and medal classes. Championship performance classes will receive trophies for first place with ribbons for first through eighth. AMATEUR & JR HIGH POINTS HIGHPOINT ADULT AMATEURS AND JR RIDER WILL WIN A BELT BUCKLE. YOU MUST SIGN UP TO HAVE YOUR POINTS COUNTED. GENERAL INFORMATION AHA MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS – Copies of ALL trainer’s, driver’s, rider’s and Breeding/ Halter handler’s and at least ONE Owner’s current AHA COMPETITION Membership Cards MUST be included with the horse show entry form at the time of entry. Any owner, trainer, driver, rider, breeding/ halter handler who exhibits horses in the show ring or signs the entry form as the responsible person for any individual’s horses at the show must be a current competition member of A.H.A. at the time of entry and at the time of showing. An AHA Single Event Membership Fee of $40.00 must be paid ONE TIME ONLY if not a current competition member of AHA or you do not have a current competition card. Membership Affidavits are no longer available. AMATEUR OWNER FAMILY DEFINITION - An Amateur Owner Class is one in which every contestant is an Amateur and the rider, driver, or handler is the Owner or an Amateur Member of the owner’s family. “Family” includes husband, wife, parent, step-parent, child, brother, stepchild, sister, half-brother, half-sister, aunt, uncle, niece, nephew, grandmother, grandfather, and in-laws of the same relation as stated. ARENA DIMENSIONS & FOOTING – Large outdoor arena (A) 150 x 300’; All arenas have a mixture of sand and dirt for footing. CALIFORNIA DRUG FEE – A $8.00 fee per horse (mandatory) will be collected for State of California Drug Testing program. CRUELTY AND ABUSE - AHA ARTICLE 304.6 WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED AT ALL AHA RECOGNIZED COMPETITIONS. DISCIPLINE - Exhibitors are warned that any act of discourtesy to the officials of this show on the part of the owner, lessee, trainer, groom, rider or driver will disqualify the horse from adjudication. The management reserves the right to remove a horse owner, lessee, trainer, groom or rider from the show without being liable for compensation or damages. VETERINARIAN The on-call Veterinarian isEquine Health Management (951) 813-6180. (Posted in Show Office) GATE RULE - Due to a full schedule of classes the TWO-MINUTE limit after last call for a class will be strictly enforced. Exhibitors are cautioned against entering the same horse in successive classes. The gate will close 2 minutes after the first horse enters the ring or in cases with large classes taking more than 2 minutes at the completion of final horse in the continuous string of horses. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE EXHIBITOR TO BE SURE THAT HIS/HER HORSE IS AT THE GATE ON TIME. CLASS CALLS MUST BE CONSIDERED A COURTESY ONLY. No protests will be upheld on the basis of a public address system malfunction. “Open” cards may be run for hunter/jumper and Sport Horse In Hand classes to assist exhibitors who might have a conflict with classes in another arena. Check with show manager or in the show office for details. 8
GENERAL INFORMATION HALF ARABIAN/ANGLO ARABIAN COLTS/STALLIONS – Half Arabian and Anglo-Arabian stallions registered with AHA, or which have been issued an AHA CPAR (Canadian Part-bred Arabian Register) Permit, are permitted to compete in the AHA PERFORMANCE CLASSES for HA/ AA and Anglo-Arabian horses. Half-Arabian and Anglo-Arabian colts & stallions, two years & older, may compete in Sport Horse In Hand Classes. HEADGEAR – All juniors riding in Hunter Seat Equitation sections must wear properly fitting protective headgear while riding in the designated schooling & exercise areas, the show ring, and while jumping anywhere on the competition grounds. Harness must be secured and properly fitted. Any rider violating this rule must immediately be prohibited from further riding until such headgear is property in place. Any exhibitor may wear protective headgear (ASTM/SEA) in any division or class without penalty from the judge. INDEMNITY AND NON-RESPONSIBILITY CLAUSES - All entries are accepted with the understanding that the Rancho California Arabian Horse Association and Galway Downs Equestrian Center not be held responsible for any loss, damage, or injury to any horse exhibited or any article of any kind. All horses shall be under the control and direction of the Show Committee but solely at the risk of the exhibitor who will be responsible for any loss, damage, or injury to any person, animal or property occasioned by him, his agents or employees, or by an animal owned or exhibited any, and shall indemnify the Rancho California Arabian Horse Association and Galway Downs Equestrian Center against any and all loss damages and liability thus occasioned including, but not limited to, any and all legal costs including attorney fees which may be incurred as a result thereof. The submitting of an entry form to the Show Secretary shall constitute an acceptance by each person signing same of the provisions herein set forth. JUDGES - If for any reason a judge fails to attend this show or perform his/her duties the Show Committee reserves the right to substitute a judge for the one who is officially designated in the Prize List. No one shall approach a judge with regard to a decision, or, at any time, unless he first obtains permission from the Show Steward who shall arrange an appointment with the judge at a proper time and place. LOCATION OF CLASSES - Show management reserves the right to hold classes or portions of classes on the grounds outside the Main Arena, if it is found necessary to do so, or to change and/or modify the Schedule of Events as necessary to accommodate the entries received. RESOLUTION 9-90 FEE - Every horse competing in these shows must pay $5.00 PER HORSE ONLY ONCE to fund the Education & Evaluation program for AHA Judges & Stewards.
