Employee Profile Our business provides many of our staff with rewarding career opportunities and experiences. Here’s what some of our team have to say about working at H3: TRACEY PACKWOOD – BUSINESS EVENTS EXECUTIVE Reflecting on the activities of the past year has been phenomenal. In additional to being newly married, I transitioned from the Graduate Programme and hit the ground running after securing a fulltime position as Business Development Executive, joining the Business Events team in April 2019. Since being appointed the role my schedule has been busy attending different tradeshows, as well as supporting the team hosting guests for the Bespoke 24-hour ‘Taste Of Waikato’ famil in May. Among the daily activities of sales calls, enquiries and account management of clients, I’ve also been involved in the planning of our Three of a Kind Local Express Venue Famil, plus planning and promotion of the Grandstand Christmas Package. I’ve loved every minute of the role and learning about the Business Events industry. I’m enjoying making connections with clients and others throughout the industry. Part of my success story has been hugely impacted by my involvement in the H3 Graduate Programme. The range of opportunities that were presented throughout the rotations and placement enabled me to grow and develop knowledge and skills from a professional perspective. Each of the teams equip and support you as you grow in your career. It’s wonderful to see the current graduates progressing through the programme, it’s great to be part of their journey and I’m excited to see what the future holds for them. OLIVIA GRIFFITH – GRADUATE I started the Graduate Programme at the beginning of 2019, having previously worked at ForumPoint2 Conference Partners. Prior to this, I completed my Bachelor of Tourism degree, specialising in Event Management at the University of Waikato. Having worked in the conference industry, I heard about the Graduate Programme and knew it was an opportunity that I could not pass. This year has been a massive learning experience which has not only developed my skills in event management but has provided me with a deeper understanding of the event process. I started the Graduate Programme working at NZ Sevens and then working alongside the Impact Events team with international DJ, Fat Boy Slim. It was great to have exposure of two massive events right from the start. I will now begin my six-month placement with the Conference and Functions team which will provide me with more of an insight into Business Events and allow me to settle into a role. I have truly enjoyed the Graduate Programme so far and am incredibly thankful for the endless opportunities during my time with H3. They have been an amazing company to work for and each team has supported me through my learning, to help kick-start my career. CHELSEA O’REGAN – GRADUATE Before starting the Graduate Programme at H3, I studied at Auckland University of Technology doing a Bachelor of Arts in Event Management and Business Management. I always had a passion for events, gaining experience by working as an Event and Marketing Assistant for Pukekohe Park, focusing on Horse Racing and Motorsport Events. I came across the Graduate Programme when I was looking at moving down from Auckland to Hamilton. I was hoping for a new opportunity and the programme offered the chance to learn about how venues operate in conjunction with events and gain more experience within the industry I studied. I was very excited for my new venture when I was given the role as one of the 2019 graduates. The moment I started with H3 I knew that it would be fast paced with plenty of learning opportunities as I spent my second week working on the HSBC Sevens. Through my rotations I have had the chance to do so many amazing jobs, such as working with the Impact team on Fat Boy Slim and Chiefs games, assisting Marketing with different projects and learning how important everyone’s roles are. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time rotating through the business and I am looking forward to spending six months learning more in the Impact team. H3 Graduate Development Programme 2020 | 4
