Grace McCallum HEAD OF SCHOOL gmccallum@eabdf.br Olá! My name is Grace McCallum and I am thrilled to be joining EAB as Head of School! PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCES My family and I are from New Brunswick, Canada. My husband and I started our careers in education in • Lower School Principal at Frankfurt New Brunswick before embarking on our international International School journey in education. During this time in Beijing, I also had the wonderful opportunity to lead and oversee the construction of our new campus as the interim director. While we are sad to leave such a wonderful school and community, we are looking forward to joining the EAB community! Our family loves paddleboarding, kayaking, hiking, movie nights at home, tobogganing in the Canadian snowy hills and travelling all over the world. We can’t wait to get to Brasilia and learn more about Brazilian culture! We have already started taking Portuguese classes and are looking forward to learning more about the language and culture when we arrive in July. EAB FACULTY
Margit Heinrichs LOWER SCHOOL PRINCIPAL mheinrichs@eabdf.br Margit Heinrichs was born and raised in Curitiba, PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCES Paraná in the southern part of Brazil. Even though German was her first language, Portuguese became the language of instruction once she joined school. Thomas Stephenson US ECONOMICS TEACHER tstephenson@eabdf.br I was born and raised in the United States but I have had a passion for foreign endeavors since a young age. My PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCES college education simply enhanced that feeling and soon after graduating, I was gone to study languages and cultures in Central America. I also try to model for them that people should be helped whenever they are having trouble accomplishing something. Finally, I encourage them to make a positive difference in their own life, the life of their families, and in society. My family and I are looking forward being a part of this community that is especially principled in character. Beth Lopez 5TH GRADE TEACHER elopez@eabdf.br First, let me say that it is wonderful to be back at EAB. The moment I arrived back in Brasilia, it felt like PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCES I was home. I am originally from Michigan, though I left to live and teach in Colombia after graduating from college. Later, as a family, we moved to Brasilia. • Colegio Panamericano, Colombia, Grade 2 teacher After leaving EAB in 2013, I spent 8 years teaching • The Columbus School, Colombia, Grade 5 in Mumbai, India. What a terrific experience it was to teacher work there! Living and working in the financial capital • American School of Brasilia, Brazil, Grade of India was amazing, as I was surrounded by the 4-6 teacher hustle and bustle that Mumbai offers. My husband, Marc Proulx, will be joining the MS/HS teaching team. Marc Proulx US MATH TEACHER mproulx@eabdf.br Hello everyone, my name is Marc Proulx, I was PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCES born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. I went to the University of Ottawa where I received • 25+ years Teaching experience a B.Sc. and a Bachelor of Education. This is also • 30+ years Coaching experience where I met my wife Karin Fisher, who will also be teaching at EAB, as a Grade one teacher. • 20+ years as a Math teacher • 15+ years as a Science teacher Shortly after we were married we moved to • 8 years as a Physical Education teacher Karin’s ancestral farm located in the province of Quebec. We lived there for 15 years teaching and also raising our four children (Ethan 22, Hannah 20, Noah 18, Aidan 13).
