INTRODUCTION
As the most widely consumed fruit in the United States, bananas are about as exotic as the common
loaf of Wonder Bread. When it comes to trendy foods, bananas have maintained their basic status
while the wellness world heralds foods like oat milk. But alas, the humble banana is having its time in
the sun. Due to it’s numerous health and beauty benefits, along with the fact that the scent of
bananas is irresistible to many, a surge in its popularity has spiked. Familiar foods like banana have
invaded the home and personal care market due to the collision of two major consumer moments:
the pervasiveness of wellness culture and the increasing fear that most products are dangerous.
