Gary Schoeniger FOUNDER & CEO The Entrepreneurial Learning Initiative ABOUT GARY Author and Entrepreneur Gary Schoeniger is an internationally recognized thought leader in the field of entrepreneurial mindset education. His message has influenced a broad audience from academic institutions and economic development organizations to government and non-profit clients worldwide including the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, the Cisco Entrepreneur Institute, the Colombian Ministry of Education, the U.S. State Department, and the European Commission. As the Founder and CEO of the Entrepreneurial Learning Initiative, Gary led the development of the Ice House Entrepreneurship Program, which has been recognized by the Kauffman Foundation as “redefining entrepreneurship education in classrooms and communities around the world.” The Ice House Program has been featured at the United Nations General Assembly, the Papal Council for Peace and Justice at the Vatican, and the European Commission in Brussels. Schoeniger, along with Pulitzer nominee Clifton Taulbert, is also the co-author of Who Owns the Ice House? Eight Life Lessons from an Unlikely Entrepreneur, an international bestseller described as “required reading for humanity.” With his focus on the entrepreneurial mindset, Gary has presented numerous keynotes, workshops, and training programs throughout the U.S. and abroad, including the Global Entrepreneurship Congress in Rio de Janeiro and Moscow as well as speaking and training programs in Cape Town, Athens, London, Bogota, Buenos Aires, Mexico City, Sofia, Santiago, Aberdeen, Nicosia, Zagreb, Tbilisi, and Baku. Gary is currently a member of the Forbes Business Council. He also formerly served on the Dean’s Council at Purdue Polytechnic Institute, and an advisory council member for Tecnologico de Monterrey’s Tec21 model to produce graduates in Mexico with an entrepreneurial spirit and humanistic outlook for the 21st Century. Gary also served as a past board member for the Hershey Montessori School in Concord, Ohio. Rob Herndon PRESIDENT The Entrepreneurial Learning Initiative ABOUT ROB As Vice President of Strategic Partnerships, Rob Herndon is responsible for client engagement, product development, thought leadership, and training. Rob’s significant experience in leadership positions as an Air Force officer and in education at the university, community college, and high school levels brings a diversity of perspective to ELI’s audience. Rob recognizes the importance of education in lifting all members of society and finds power in the entrepreneurial mindset to change people’s lives for the better. Prior to joining ELI, Rob served as the Associate Dean of Business and Technology at Pikes Peak Community College where he participated in the implementation of the Ice House Entrepreneurship Program as a student success course as well as worked with faculty to build out entrepreneurship programming in the Business Division. With degrees in Astronautical Engineering and Systems Management, Rob’s previous roles within education include leading the Air Force ROTC detachment at Utah State University where he taught the senior-level classes on leadership and national security. He has also served as the Deputy Commander of the 34 Air Force ROTC detachments in the northwest region of the United States. Additionally, Rob had the honor of teaching high school math to some extraordinary students in York County, Virginia. Rob has volunteered time as a youth soccer and baseball coach and currently serves as the President of Lemon- Aide’s Friends, a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to assisting cancer patients in need. In Rob’s free time, he loves traveling and spending time with his wife, a high school science teacher, and their three children as they conquer their schoolwork, opponents on the soccer field, or the critics of any acting productions which they participate in. Jamey Polak CERTIFIED FACILITATOR The Entrepreneurial Learning Initiative ABOUT JAMEY As an ELI contributor and Master Facilitator, Jamey has a wealth of classroom experience with ELI’s entrepreneurial mindset programs. He uses this knowledge to provide an in-depth view of how to best utilize Ice House programs in educational settings and he helps provide a strong foundation for facilitator training participants in the application of entrepreneurial mindset concepts. Jamey is currently head of the entrepreneurship program at Gilmour Academy in Gates Mills, Ohio. He is also heavily involved in the school’s experiential learning programs and helps develop young student leaders as the chief moderator for Student Council. Since taking over the Entrepreneurship program in 2017, he has more than doubled student participation in the program and created additional courses that have enabled him to mentor numerous students through the creation of their own businesses. He earned his BA in Education at Notre Dame College after spending eight years in various sales, marketing, and management roles in the insurance and web development industries. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Jamey also has many years of experience as a high school basketball and golf coach. He is currently the Head Boys Golf Coach at Gilmour Academy, where he recently guided the team to a third-place finish at the 2020 state finals in Ohio. In his free time, Jamey enjoys playing golf, grilling, and barbecuing (he will go on at length if you ask him what the difference is), and spending time with his family. His wife Jennifer also works in education as a Director of Pupil Services. They share two young children, Charlotte (7) and Joshua (4), who give them a run for their money every day. Linden Dalecki, Ph.D. CERTIFIED FACILITATOR The Entrepreneurial Learning Initiative ABOUT LINDEN Dr. Dalecki is passionate about teaching and researching entrepreneurship, innovation and marketing. He earned his Ph.D. and Master’s from the University of Texas-Austin and his Bachelor’s from the University of Wisconsin- Madison. He is an Associate Professor of Marketing at Pittsburg State University, where he designed and implemented international dual degree programs with La Rochelle Business School (France), Montpellier Business School (France), and Birmingham Business School (England). He Chaired the Kansas International Trade Coordinating Council, which selects the annual Kansas Governor’s Exporter of the Year Award winner. Dr. Dalecki provides pro bono marketing consultation to the InterTribal Buffalo Council (ITBC), a consortium of 69 federally recognized Tribes from 19 different states whose mission is to restore buffalo to Indian Country. He was honored to be a featured speaker at ITBC’s recent annual conference. Dr. Dalecki has authored multiple articles published in the Journal of Research in Marketing and Entrepreneurship, and is lead author of a book chapter titled Social Entrepreneurship: Current Challenges as Future Opportunities that will be published in 2022 by Oxford University Press. This academic year and next (2020-2022) Dr. Dalecki is participating as a postdoctoral guest-scholar in seminars offered by the Greater Kansas City Psychoanalytic Institute.
