Newly qualified snake Community Spirit, Thursday November 5, 2020 - Page 3 catchers thanks to FQM ■ Hopetoun CRC On Wednesday October 14th there was much dread, fear, anticipation and excitement all being experienced within the training room of the Hopetoun CRC. The reason was Dave from Bob Coopers Snake Handling ON SALE 4TH NOVEMBER 2020 came to teach snake removal with an array of snakes including Tiger Snakes, Dugites, Pythons and a Death Adder. These were not pet snakes accustomed to being handled, but the real deal caught a few days prior for the purpose of the training. Despite that, most of them were relatively placid but fortunately Beau Shepherd, our local Shire Ranger popped in to throw a newly caught, feisty Tiger Snake into the mix which made the experience much more realistic! This training was free thanks to the generosity of FQM as part of their commitment to the community with the aim that there will be many willing catchers in the region after also $ 315 ea holding a session out at the mine for their workers. As a casual relief cleaner you are required to undertake cleaning tasks at a high standard and understands the requirements of confidentiality, hold a current national police clearance and have your own transport. A total salary package will be negotiated dependent on qualifications, skills and experience as per the Ravensthorpe Enterprise Bargaining Agreement 2020.
