RULES AND REGULATIONS
THE GYMPIE DISTRICT SHOW SOCIETY IS OPERATING UNDER THE QUEENSLAND AGRICULTURAL SHOWS AND
SHOWGROUNDS COVID SAFE INDUSTRY PLAN.
Please adhere to COVID safe key principles that apply to Gympie Showgrounds and the Gympie Show
TO AVOID MISUNDERSTANDING, COMPETITORS ARE REQUESTED TO READ THESE REGULATIONS CAREFULLY
EXHIBIT ENTRIES, DELIVERY AND COLLECTION
1. FREE ENTRY
2. The Schedule will be divided into 3 sections.
SECTION 1: Open/Commercial/Pumpkin & Edible Gramma sections.
SECTION 2: Senior Home Garden.
SECTION 3: Junior Home Garden.
3. At each SECTION, exhibitors must have a separate entry form.
All forms must be filled out by the exhibitors before presenting produce to drop off areas.
Drop off areas will be clearly marked.
4. If you are entering more than one SECTIONS, you will need to go to that drop off area as well.
5. Volunteers will no longer be able to help separate different SECTIONS.
6. Drop off areas at the moment, will be as followed. These areas may change closer to the Show.
SECTION 1: Open/Commercial - side back door, Pavilion side (previous years drop off area)
SECTION2: SHG - front roller door on the Pavilion side
SECTION 3: JHG - front roller door on the Grand Stand side.
7. Exhibits are to be delivered to the Fruit & Veg Pavilion on the following days and times.
a. Tuesday 11th May between 8am to 6pm
b. Wednesday 12th May between 6.30am to 10am
8. EARLY ONLINE & ENTRY FORMS MAY BE SUBMITTED TO THE OFFICE BEFORE 4PM FRIDAY 23RD APRIL
a. Produce may be added or subtracted on day of delivery

11. GST will apply if an Exhibitor enters an Exhibit as a Business entity, the Exhibitor has an ABN, and the Exhibitor is
REGISTERED for GST. Where GST applies, the Gympie Show Society will pay the prize money quoted in this
Schedule plus 10% GST and issue a recipient created tax invoice for prize money paid.
12. Please provide your ABN and GST registration details on the entry form if you are a Business entity.
GENERAL
1. Exhibits can only be entered in one class, except classes in Pumpkin & Gramma Sections.
2. ALL EXHIBITS MUST BE GROWN BY THE EXHIBITOR.
3. Exhibitors will not be able to take home any produce once entered in for judging. This is a COVID rule.
4. Plates & Dishes will be supplied where applicable for uniformity in Home Garden.
5. MOST POINTS: Classes are assessed as follows: 1st-4 points, 2nd-2 points.
JUDGING
1. Judging commences at 10.30am on Wednesday 12th May.
PRIZE MONEY AND TROPHY COLLECTION – BOB HENSEL PAVILION (directly behind F & V Pavilion)
1. Due to COVID, we are unable to have our presentation of trophies in the (W F Bishop Building), F & V Pavilion.
2. Prize Money and trophy collection will be at – BOB HENSEL PAVILION, easier to socially distance.
3. There, you will be able to line up to tables, collect your prize/trophy and sign off on paperwork.
4. Prize Money/Trophies can be collected from 3pm.
5. Prize Money not collected by 4pm Friday 25th June shall be deemed a donation to the Gympie District Show
Society Inc.
6. Any changes to the above will be confirmed on drop off time.

SUPERMARKET FRESH & ‘VALUE ADDED’ COMPETITION
THIS YEARS’ THEME IS: LOCALS SUPPORTING LOCALS
This is an opportunity to promote Gympie at its best with an eye-catching display and to support the local
community.
Points are awarded on theme, quality of produce, value added products and overall presentation.
Displays are judged by all 3 Judges.

1. Depending on the number of supermarkets entering, produce a display (3 supermarkets) 2.4m high x
3.2m across or (4 supermarkets) 2.4m high x 2.4m across depicting the given theme.
2. The design must consist of fresh fruit and/or vegetables with value added products (grocery items) in
plastic, bottles, or tins.
3. It would be preferable if you could use products of Australia.
4. Your supermarket brand named products can be used in the display.
5. A backing board (1.2m high x 3.2m or 2.4m across) may be used for signs or banners.
6. Hay, paper or any medium for filling spaces can be used.
7. The erection of your display can begin on Tuesday 11th May 2021 from 8am until 6pm (after 6pm can
be arranged with a Steward)
8. Displays must be completed by Wednesday 12th May 2021 between 6.30am to 10 am
9. Display must be built and erected by members of your organisation.
