FIRMAGON® is a Gonadotropin Releasing Hormone (GnRH) receptor blocker indicated for the treatment of patients with prostate cancer in whom androgen deprivation is warranted1 Androgen deprivation, while effectively treating prostate cancer, has both immediate and long lasting consequences for patients, especially in 3 major areas2 - Quality of Life - Bone Health - Cardiovascular Health FIRMAGON® significantly improves patient outcomes while effectively controlling ADT-related adverse events compared with LHRH agonists3 In patients with a history of CV disease, FIRMAGON® significantly reduces CV events and deaths after the first year of treatment compared with LHRH agonists4 In patients with lower urinary tract symptoms (IPSS≥13), FIRMAGON® provides significant, clinically-meaningful symptom relief versus LHRH agonists5 In patients needing neo-adjuvant hormonal therapy prior to radiotherapy, FIRMAGON® reduces prostate volume by 37% vs baseline over the first 12 weeks of treatment6 In patients receiving Intermittent Androgen Deprivation (IAD), FIRMAGON® controls PSA as effectively as continuous ADT, with the added benefit of allowing testosterone levels to recover7 References: 1.
