In this article, Ms Venter describes a capacitation project in which she played a significant role to secure a partnership in terms of which Woolworths and the Wholesale and Retail SETA are to invest R40 000 per person for the training of FET College lecturers in a proposed new subject, ‘Retail’. DHET has endorsed the initiative for possible subject implementation in 2015. As part of the project the partners will also undertake to sponsor retail stores for each of the participating colleges across SA.
