Dear friends of the Widder Hotel
 The whole of Zurich is bathed in festive lights; the scent of mulled
   wine, cinnamon and Christmas biscuits is in the air; the distant
 ringing of bells is winding through the streets – just like every year,
we can’t wait to celebrate the time-honoured traditions of the holiday
    season, with its cherished rituals and cosy, family-filled days.

With our festive calendar, we would like to invite you to rediscover
the magic of Christmas – whether it is the heavenly Swiss raclette at
 Chez Vrony, the holiday-inspired Flavour menus at the Widder Bar
& Kitchen, or at our hip New Year’s Eve party in our Garage. There
  is a surprise hidden behind every door of our calendar to let you
   experience that magical festive atmosphere with all your senses.

IT‘S TEA-TIME a modern take on
                    teatime in a historic setting

                          KITCHEN TEA
Traditional smoked salmon sandwiches are so yesterday. Nowadays, we prefer
‘prawn dogs’ and matcha profiteroles for tea. We are proud to present a new take
    on teatime this winter: from November 2018 to March 2019, you can enjoy a
          Japanese-inspired afternoon tea at the Widder Bar & Kitchen.
We are offering sweet and salty bento boxes to share, a fine selection of teas and
                                 delicious cocktails.

The chalet pavilion of the Widder Hotel will whisk you away from the cold of a snowy
winter night into the magical mountain world of Zermatt. You will be invited on a cu-
linary journey to the Matterhorn to dine on raclette and sip Ruinart champagne. The
creaking floorboards, antlers and comfy fur blankets provide all the cosy enchant-
ment of a rustic Alpine hut, making Chez Vrony@Widder the coolest winter-lifestyle
chalet in the heart of Zurich. Vrony’s signature dishes will be skilfully paired with
exquisite cheeses, such as the truly unique Ruinart champagne cheese, which is
                           handmade for the Widder Hotel.

          JINGLE BELL? JINGLE BALL!
Do you want to dance to our tune again? On 8 December, the time will finally come!
That’s when we will begin the festive season countdown with our Jingle Ball. Our
team has devised a dazzling programme to kick off the Widder party calendar: a
gala dinner, live entertainment and tombola promise an unforgettable evening. And
since the festive season is all about the spirit of giving, the proceeds from the raffle
will be donated to UNICEF Switzerland. Let’s dance and be merry – winter doesn’t
                            get more glamorous than this!

At 6 pm, we will welcome you with a Ruinart champagne aperitif and delicious hors d’oeuvres, follo-
wed by a gala dinner prepared by Executive Chef Tino Staub and his team, and dancing and entertain-
                           ment with the live band Europa from France.

The year is drawing to a close, a new one is about to begin – and we have all
the ingredients you need for the perfect party. Sparkling champagne, fine dining
and live entertainment: our New Year’s Eve party provides a fantastic climax to
the end of the year and a brilliant beginning to the new. Prepare yourself for an
exuberant atmosphere as the countdown to new year begins: our ‘Kiss me at
              midnight’ party promises dancing into the early hours.
                 From 6 pm: Ruinart champagne aperitif with Widder delicacies,
            followed by a six-course gala dinner in the festively decorated ballroom,
                    presented by our Executive Chef Tino Staub and his team

Widder Bar & Kitchen is happy to take you on a journey to the delicious world of
our Executive Chef Tino Staub. Flavours and ingredients guide the way throughout
the evening, and on New Year’s Eve, you can choose your favourites – whether
truffle, smoke, basil or curry – and ring out the year with tantalising treats for your
tastebuds. At midnight, you can dance the night away in the Widder Garage with
jazz from Swingotopia in a lavish atmosphere that will transport you to the 1920s.
      Your ticket to the Roaring Twenties party is included in your reservation.

Dance your way into the new year in a glittering gown or a tailored tux! This
New Year’s Eve, we’re bringing back the glorious decade of the 1920s in a unique,
shabby-chic, vintage atmosphere and with jazz music from Swingotopia. The
Roaring Twenties were a glamorous decade of social upheaval and decadence,
and there’s no better night to celebrate this than 31 December. We’ve transfor-
med the Widder Garage into a speakeasy with world-class cocktails and a hip,
             underground vibe – the perfect combination for NYE!
