MUSIC Curated by the community and for the community, the 2019 music lineup was the best and “Britest” collection of talent yet, spanning across all genres and musicality with 40 bands on five indoor and outdoor stages. This year, three well-respected members of the Cleveland music community served as Music Liaisons, with their goal being to recruit acts from all corners of the city and region and provide guidance to the selection process. Their work resulted in the largest number musical submissions to date, with over 400 submissions. From there, each band was reviewed at least five times by our 30-member music review committee. Though the main focus for Brite music was, and always will be, to highlight local Cleveland acts, the 2019 festival also featured bands from California, Colorado, New York, Michigan and Missouri. As the sun went down, the crowds grew nearer to the stages to experience the two headliners up close. The K&D Stage Under the Bridge featured Ezri, a Cleveland native and the first ever hip-hop artist headliner in Brite’s history. The night was capped off with a stellar performance from indie-pop band Smallpools on the CoverMyMeds Stage on Elm Ave. "It was amazing to see Clevelanders out and about in the middle of February. We had a huge crowd and it was just so aWESOME to feel supported by the community and our fans!" — MICHELLE GAW FROM MIMI ARDEN
