A Message from the CEO Dear Girl Scout Families: The 2018 Cookie Experience is going to be “Altogether Awesome!” I am grateful that you and your girl have chosen to participate this year. The Cookie Experience is part of the Girl Scout DNA and gives girls the opportunity to unlock their inner G.I.R.L. Yes, your Girl Scout is a GO-GETTER, INNOVATOR, RISK TAKER and LEADER! Moreover, as she builds her Cookie Business, she grows in these critical areas while also learning important life skills like goal setting, decision-making, money management, people skills and business ethics. I know that it takes a village to raise a girl and it takes a family to help her succeed. Your girl needs your support as she sets her realistic goals and works to achieve her goals. She needs your support as she decides what change she wants to make through her Cookies for Change project and she needs your support as she builds her courage, confidence and character when reaching out to cookie customers through your community network. She needs your support at cookie booths—knowing that you are right there for her as she approaches her customers, answers their questions, and fills their orders. In today’s world girls need to learn to speak up and advocate for themselves and others, and the cookie experience gives them great practice. I always marvel at the shy Brownie who at the beginning of the cookie season is afraid to speak up and transforms into a go- getter as she pushes to meet her goals. I am constantly amazed by our older Girl Scouts who set goals to earn their way to incredible travel experiences through the Girl Scout Destinations program. And then there is the troop that has been working together for years to raise funds to travel to one of our World Centers! The Cookie Experience transforms girls and provides them with incredible life experiences. Let’s be ALTOGETHER AWESOME this season! On My Honor, Debbie Rich, Chief Girl Scout
