New Grower Partners Domaine de Panisse Southern Rhône | France The next generation at Le Clos du Caillou now owns a spectacular, 16-acre property north of the family estate in Courthézon. With many vines planted in 1924 and soils that echo Châteauneuf’s finest, Panisse is more than well-positioned to craft compelling southern blends. Winemaker-siblings Marilou and Axel Vacheron are converting their new holdings to organic cultivation. Their maiden vintage is 2020, a year that gave power and silk in equal measure. Domaine Eric Forest Mâconnais | France Eric Forest is one of the top names in Vergisson. Trained by Jean-Marie Guffens and heir to more than eight generations of grower talent, Eric crafts white Burgundy that is a shining example of the best of the Mâconnais. Working his 20 acres organically, Eric’s holdings include vines in Pouilly-Fuissé, Saint-Véran and Mâcon-Vergisson, planted between 1930 and 1979. ConcaEntosa Sardinia | Italy Born on the craggy, sun-bleached granite of northern Sardinia, Emanuele Ragnedda’s ‘Shar’ more than reflects the raw beauty of this Mediterranean island through the mirror of Vermentino. This rare, small-batch white, named after a warrior clan that worshiped the sun and sea, shines a brighter light on the flavorful potency of wines from this ancient land. A Sardinian native, Emanuele says he crafts his wines with “courage, enthusiasm and luck.” Azienda Agricola Molinetto Piedmont | Italy Piedmontese native Diego Carrea had a successful IT career before the pull back home to his family’s winery became too strong to ignore. Together with his father and uncle, Diego farms 15 acres of Cortese vines in the heart of Gavi. One of Italy’s classic white wines, Gavi in the hands of the Carrea clan is newly realized, with more energy and aromatic intensity. Azienda Agricola Buscemi Sicily | Italy More than 3,000 feet above the azure Mediterranean on the northwest face of Mount Etna, the historic Tartaraci vineyard unites two classic Mediterranean red grapes that thrive in this extreme climate: Nerello Mascalese and Grenache. Winemaker Mirella Buscemi, following in the footsteps of her grandparents, tends her nearly 100-year-old vines naturally.
