Ⅱ. Academic Programs & Quota There are no quotas in the admissions process for international applicants; applicants are assessed and selected based on their academic ability. If there is no major specified in the table below, please select a "Division/Department" instead. ※ Please note that all courses in the Division of International Studies at Scranton College (International Studies, Global Korean Studies) are conducted in English. Upon entering the program, all students will be enrolled in the "Accreditation Program" and details pertaining to its completion or changes will be subject to the program’s bylaws(subject to change according to the result of the accreditation evaluation and conditions of the department). ※ The College of Nursing has received accreditation by the Korean Accreditation Board of Nursing Education for its undergraduate program. Ⅲ. Eligibility To be eligible to apply, applicants must meet all the requirements below. 1. Nationality: Non-Korean* ※ To be eligible to apply through this admissions process, applicants and their parents must be nationals (i.e. passport holders) of a country other than Korea. ※ Korean nationals with dual or multiple nationalities are not eligible to apply; this applies to the applicant and both parents. ※ Applicants who have acquired non-Korean nationality after birth are eligible only if the applicant and both parents have acquired the non-Korean nationality prior to the applicant’s enrollment in high school(G10). ※ Ewha Womans University accepts applications from female applicants only. ※ Applicants who themselves and their parents are of Korean origin or have acquired non-Korean nationality after birth must submit additional documents that verify a) the renunciation of Korean nationality and b) the date the non-Korean nationality was acquired. ※ Any document verifying the divorce or death of parent(s) → In the case where an applicant’s parents are divorced, the applicant’s nationality eligibility is determined by the nationality of the legal guardian (father/mother). 2. Education: Applicants to each program must meet the academic requirements below Programs Eligibility Applicants who have graduated or are expected to graduate from high school before September, 2020. Freshman Under- ※ GED, Korean High school Graduate Equivalency Test, home schooling, cyber schooling, or other high school equivalency certificates graduate are not considered as high school diploma. Program Applicants who have completed or are expected to complete at least 2 Transfer academic years in a university degree program before September 2020, and intend to transfer into the third year. Master’s, Applicants who have completed a four-year university program or its Combined Master’s equivalent and have acquired or are expected to acquire a Bachelor’s Graduate degree before September 2020. and Doctoral Program Applicants who have completed a graduate program and have acquired Doctoral or are expected to acquire a Master’s degree before September 2020. ※ Exceptions may be made in cases where the start date of the academic year or semester is on a later date than those of Korea's by one month or less according to the concerned country's school system. 3. Language Proficiency: Applicants must meet one of the following language proficiency requirements A. Undergraduate Freshman Applicants: Test of Proficiency in Korean(TOPIK) Level 3 or above Undergraduate Transfer & Graduate Program Applicants: TOPIK Level 4 or above B. Completion of Level 4 or above of the Korean Language Intensive program at Ewha Language Center C. English Proficency Test Scores: TOEFL(PBT 550, iBT 80), IELTS 5.5, TEPS 550(New TEPS 296) or above D. Completion of high school or university education conducted entirely in Korean or English E. Ewha's recognition that the applicant's level of Korean or English proficiency is equivalent to or higher than the above A-D requirements ※ Only language proficiency test scores obtained after September 1, 2018 are considered valid. ※ Applicants admitted to undergraduate programs are required to acquire TOPIK level 4 prior to graduation. (Exception: Division of International Studies, where all courses are conducted in English) - 10 -
4. Additional Requirements for Graduate Program Applicants A. Law The Combined Master’s and Doctoral Program in Law is only open to applicants with at least 3 years of legal practice experience. B. Nursing Science The Master’s Programs in Gerontological Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse, and Advanced Clinical Nursing majors are only open to applicants with at least 3 years of clinical experience in each respective field. C. Medicine - Programs in Clinical Medicine majors (excluding the basic medical science majors) are only open to applicants who have graduated from the College of Medicine - Programs in Dental Medicine are only open to applicants who have graduated from the College of Dentistry Ⅳ. Selection Process 1. Selection Process: Applicants will be selected through a comprehensive evaluation of their academic capability, achievements, and potential, based on their submitted documents. ※ Some applicants may be contacted individually for an interview. 2. Application Fee: The application fee is 150,000 Korean Won (or USD $150). ※ Applicants must make a payment when they submit their online application. A. The commission for the online application process is paid by Ewha Womans University. B. The application cannot be cancelled once it has been submitted and the application fee is nonrefundable. However, if a judgment is made by admissions related committees of Ewha Womans University that there was an unavoidable reason(natural disaster, negligence of the admissions agency, or other reasons not attributable to the applicant), some or all of the application fee may be refunded. C. Pursuant to Article 34-4 paragraph 5 of the Higher Education Act, should there be any amount left over after all expenditures related to admission screening have been subtracted from income related thereto, it may be returned in proportion to the application fee. - 11 -

4. Submission of Additional Documents for Admitted Applicants A. Conditionally admitted applicants must submit their TOPIK score reports or ELC Certificate of Completion (Korean Intensive program Level 4) by the designated date(to be announced). Applicants who were not able to submit academic documents issued by foreign institutes (transcripts, enrollment, graduation certificates) with apostille, Consulate certification, or certification report by the Chinese Ministry of Education during the document submission period, must submit them by the designated date(in July, 2020) after being notified of the admissions results. C. Applicants who have submitted the Certificate of Prospective Diploma upon online application must submit the Certificate of Diploma to Ewha Womans University by August 31, 2020. 5. Certificate of Admission and Study Abroad Visa A. A Certificate of Admission will be issued to applicants who have submitted the “Statement of Intent to Register.” B. Applicants must individually apply for a Study Abroad Visa or for a change to a Study Abroad Visa. C. The status of sojourn allowed to study in Korea is determined pursuant to the guidelines of Korea Immigration Service, which is subject to change and may vary depending on each individual's situation. Thus, please make sure to individually check with Korea Immigration Service. 6. Housing Information A. Applicants can apply for entrance to on-campus housing when submitting the Statement of Intent to Register. B.
