Head to Stebleton Park at Rock Mill to see one of the most remarkable historical structures in the state. Rock Mill is an impressive fully restored six-story grist mill resting next to a beautiful covered bridge that spans the gorge of the Hocking River. This is one of the nation’s only remaining mill-and-covered-bridge combinations. Originally built in 1824, the mill ground wheat and corn into flour and meal until 1905. After sitting vacant for nearly 100 years, an extensive restoration effort led to Rock Mill now being fully operational, just as it was nearly two centuries ago. You will be astounded by the mill’s 26-foot diameter all-wooden waterwheel, the largest in the nation. Using only white oak, the wheel’s axle is one solid piece of wood weighing almost three tons; the waterwheel, formed from six giant trees, weighs 20,000 pounds. Wizard’s Quest helps you find all the tools any good wizard needs while trekking through town. After the hunt, be sure to visit Lil Stuffins Workshop where you can create your plush new best friend. @saynplaycolumbus For a different kind of adventure, get up close to a variety of military vehicles at the Historical Aircraft Squadron. For a fun time in the fresh air, head over to Rising Park. Youngsters can fish in the lake or play on the playground, and the whole family will appreciate the breathtaking view after hiking up Mt. Pleasant. Or bring everyone to the playground at Hunter Park, the region’s only all-accessible, multi-generational playground -- 10,600 square feet of fun for everyone!
