FIRST OF ALL… Although it is the second digital semester, it is still a challenging and unfamiliar situation for everyone! Our main goal is to create maximum transparancy and clarify all exam related doubts! Status January 13 2021
SPECIFICS OF GERMAN EDUCATION • Advanced AI can detect academic dishonesty and cheating • Cheating is a public offence punishable with 1. At least a 5.0 (fail) for both parties involved 2. Fines up to 10.000 € 3. Can be expelled from the university Residence permit void Status January 13 2021
FACTS What exactly is considered as failed? • Achieving a too small amount of points • Cheating • De-register too late Status January 13 2021
FACTS • The form of the exam can be adjusted on relative short notice. FACTS You have one free attempt in every exam offered Except you got caught cheating in the same modules throughout the exam period of summer semester or beginnning of winter semester in 2020! Except you already had a Failed Attempt with the same module throughout the exam period in summer term 2020 or beginnning of winter term 2020! IN CASES OF DOUBT GET IN TOUCH WITH THE * EXAMINATION SERVICE Status January 13 2021
FACTS • Exam reviews will be possible after university opens again. • Appeals still have to be handed in before the deadline. You can hand in the explanation after your review. Status January 13 2021
FACTS • No automatic registrations for exams this semester. • Withdrawal from exams latest possible until seven days before exams. Dates are written in the HIS-portal. Probably the case – information coming soon A withdrawal from exams in the exam period of winter term 20/21 and in the exam period in the beginning of the summer term 2021 is possible without mentioning any reasons until right before the beginning of the exam. Therefore not attending an exam will not have any consequences. Status January 13 2021
FACTS If any technical difficulties appear throughout the exam, tell your professor immediately! Interrupted exams do not count as failed! Status January 13 2021

NR 2: MEET YOUR DEADLINES – READ YOUR E-MAILS Check your University E-Mail daily → important Updates Register right away → easily forgotten Calendar → mark Deadlines in red 4
NR 3: SIMPLE AND EFFECTIVE – BACK UP YOUR REGISTRATIONS Printing-function in HIS! You need Proof of Registration Frustrating but easily avoided => ALWAYS DOWNLOAD THE REGISTRATION CONFIRMATION FROM HIS! 5
NR 4: CHEATING – NOT WORTH YOUR EFFORTS Cheating → Failed Exam & can lead to Exmatriculation No Communication during Exams → no asking for help, nor providing it Check Means of Aids → don´t fail accidently 6
