Extra – Curricular Activities Highfield Prep School 2-11 Academic Year 2021 – 2022
Dear Parents and Pupils The extra – curricular life of any school is very important and at Highfield, we aim for the children to have a rich and exciting list of clubs from which they can choose. We encourage all children to try new skills and activities in order to enhance their sense of achievement and well-being. In this booklet you will see an extensive range of opportunities which are offered both by the Highfield staff team and by outside providers. We are sure that there is something to suit every child from the variety of academic, sporting and creative options. Please sign up for all unpaid activities (with the exception of any activity that is ‘Invitation Only’) by e-mailing the member of staff directly. For Paid clubs you should fill out the New Request Form (on Parent Portal) and a half term’s notice on the Cancellation Form is required to cancel at any time. We hope your children get great enjoyment from the clubs we have on offer at Highfield. Michele Finnegan, Deputy Head KS2 Sue Skinner, Deputy Head EYFS and KS1
HIGHFIELD PREP SCHOOL EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Autumn 2021
INFORMATION
Details of all extra-curricular activities with relevant charges, if applicable, are listed in this booklet.
Autumn Term ECA will begin on Monday 13 September 2021 and end on Friday 3 December 2021.
REGISTRATION AND CANCELLATION
Unpaid Clubs
Please email the teacher detailed in the booklet after 5.00pm on Friday 3 September. Places are
allocated on a first come first served basis irrespective of whether your child has done the club
before and staff will email a confirmation during the first week of term. Please do not apply for
more than one club at the same time on the same day, as this is taking the place away from
someone else.
Paid Clubs
New Request sign-up forms are on Parent Portal. Your contact details will be passed to the person
in charge of the club who will then contact you with further details.
If you wish your child to stop a paid club, a half term’s notice must be given. Please use the
Cancellation Form, also found on Parent Portal.
Invitation Only Clubs
Invitation only clubs do not need to be signed up for.
Behaviour
Generally, we are delighted with the behaviour of the children in ECA. As staff, we find it very
rewarding to see the children engage in activities outside the usual learning environment. However,
we reserve the right to ask the child to leave the club if behaviour is disrespectful or unsafe. I would
be very grateful if you could reinforce this message at home.Monday
