5 Sunday 3rd June | 3pm Ray McVay will be directing the UK’s greatest big band show filled with fabulous Forties Glenn Miller Orchestra music and wartime chart-toppers, as well as a 75th Anniversary tribute to The Dam Tickets: £29.50, £26.50, £22.50 Busters. ‘St Louis Blues March’, ‘Pennsylvania Venue: Oval Hall 6-5000’, ‘Little Brown Jug’, ‘In the Mood’, ‘Moonlight Serenade’, ‘American Patrol’ A matinee show celebrating the and ‘Tuxedo Junction’ are just some of the Glenn Miller style unmistakeable hits being performed that you know and love. With the sublime vocals of Mark Porter and Catherine Sykes, the fabulous harmonies of the Moonlight Serenaders, Miller Jazz sounds from the Uptown Hall Gang and special guests the Swing Time Jivers, this is a classic filled concert not to be missed. 6 Monday 4th & Tuesday 5th June | 7.30pm Gary Barlow SOLD OUT Pre-show Dining Available from £10 Venue: Oval Hall An evening with one of Britain’s most successful song writers and Take That member Gary Barlow visits Sheffield City Hall as part of a tour that sees him play intimate venues across the UK and Ireland. The last time Gary played a string of venues this size, demand was so high he could have sold certain venues out six times over! Gary is one of Britain’s most successful songwriters, having written 14 Number One singles as well as being a six-time recipient of an Ivor Novello Award. Aside from his achievements with Take That, he has also co-written and produced music for other renowned artists including Dame Shirley Bassey, Sir Elton John and Robbie Williams. Gary’s last solo record ‘Since I Saw You Last’ sold more than 600,000 copies and was the ninth biggest selling album that year. Saturday 9th June | 7.30pm Sheffield Philharmonic Chorus: Rossini ‘Petite Messe Solonnelle’ Tickets: £15 Under 18s & Students: £5 Venue: Ballroom The Sheffield Philharmonic Chorus season concludes with a return to the art deco Ballroom for a presentation of Rossini’s wonderful ‘Petite Messe Solennelle’, with acclaimed organist Jonathan Scott on harmonium, and the chorus’ previous accompanist Nigel Gyte on piano. The concert will include a solo piece for harmonium, together with a short talk about the instrument from Jonathan Scott. The prices shown are the ticket face value. Michael also hired Navi to perform at two of his birthday parties where he gave Navi a standing ovation and described his performance as “Incredible”. Joining Navi will be MJ’s iconic guitarist Jennifer Batten also known as Michael’s “right hand woman” on three sold out world tours. Alternative music returns to Sheffield City Hall’s stunning art deco Ballroom for Tramlines 2018, led by headliners all the way from Iceland Agent Fresco. We also see the return of electro-rock band Gallops, this will be their sixth year playing in our venue for Tramlines. Since the release of their second album ‘Bronze Mystic’ the band have received rave reviews, blending electronica and experimental rock to powerful effect. The full line up also includes Jamie Lenman, Jo Quail, Koyo, Pijn, Svalbard, Talons & The Physics House Band. All in one iconic building, since 1932.
