Ballet from London to the Cinema Tiberio: The Cellist / Dances at a Ghathering

Live from the Royal Opera House in London
At the Tiberius Cinema, Cathy Marston's 'The Cellist' is screened live from the Royal Ballet of London, with the
acclaimed 'Dances at a Gathering' by the choreographer Jerome Robbins.
Inspired by the life and career of cellist Jacqueline du Pré, The Cellist is played by stars from the Royal Ballet
such as Lauren Cuthbertson and Matthew Ball and soloist Calvin Richardson.
This new ballet is paired with 'Dances at Gathering', by the five-time Tony Award winner and celebrated Broadway
choreographer Jerome Robbins.
This ballet now makes a welcome return to the Royal Ballet after a long absence from its repertoire. 'Dances at
Gathering' demonstrates the elegance and grace of five couples dancing in unison on Chopin's enchanting music.

Tuesday 3 March is the turn of the musical entitled Kinky Boots, by Cindy Lauper and Harvey Fierstein, winner of
six Tony Awards, including the one for the best musical.
Cindy Lauper, proposes a dynamic musical score, inspired by real events, about a shoe factory in Northampton
that manages to avoid bankruptcy by producing boots for drag queens with unexpected success.

European Day of the Righteous 2020

Commemorative ceremony on the day dedicated to the memory of the righteous
The European Day of the Righteous is a celebration established in 2012 by the European Parliament to
commemorate those who have stood up against crimes against humanity and totalitarism with their own moral
responsibility.
By this celebration the concept of Righteous as worked out by Yad Vashem is broadened to all genocide cases
and forms of totalitarianism thanks to the commitment of Moshe Bejski.
The European day of the Righteous is celebrated every year on 6 March, the anniversary of Moshe Bejski’s
death.
Friday, March 6th 2020, at 11.00 am at Parco XXV Aprile (equipped area next to the Tiberio Bridge) takes place
the memorial ceremony with the deposition of a bouquet of flowers by an administrator of the Municipality of
Rimini, at the foot of the monument. A representation of students with their teachers will attend the event.

Fellini 100 Genio immortale. La mostra

'Fellini 100 Immortal genius': Traveling exhibition dedicated to Federico Fellini
The exhibition, inaugurated in Castel Sismondo on Saturday 14 December 2019, represents a sort of anticipation
of the project of the new Fellini Museum, which will open to the public at the end of 2020.
Set up through a system of "staging" as movie sets, it revolves around three subjects: the first tells the story of
Italy from the twenties to the thirties, then it moves on to the post-war period, ending with the eighties through the
imagination of Fellini's films. The second nucleus is dedicated to the story of the director's traveling companions,
real, imaginary, collaborators and no. Finally, the third nucleus will be dedicated to the presentation of the
permanent project of the Federico Fellini International Museum. After the Rimini exhibition, the exhibition will
begin its journey first stop at Rome in April until June 2020, then crossing national borders with exhibitions in
Moscow and Berlin.
Thanks to "Fellini 100 and La dolce vita exhibition" visitors will learn about the unpublished material acquired and
kept in the municipal archive.
The exhibition is curated by Studio Azzurro of Milan with the consultation of Marco Bertozzi and Anna Villari.

Crossroads, the 21st edition of the traveling Jazz show throughout Emilia Romagna, presents the musical show
by Paolo Fresu, who plays David Bowie on the stage of the Galli Theater.
A tribute to the music of David Bowie leading the surprising group (with, among others, Petra Magoni, Gianluca
Petrella and Christian Meyer).
The musicians rearranged some thirty pieces, including Life on Mars, This Is Not America, Warszawa, When I
Live My Dreams, giving the project greater variety and dynamism.

This event is part of: E 'bal - stages in Romagna for contemporary dance
The first appointment of the section 'E 'bal' - is 'Sweet like a chocolate', a reworked version of Double Points: Hell,
project of research by Emio Greco and Pieter C. Scholten which debuted in 2005 at the Avignon Festival and
presented in 2008, at the invitation of Pina Bausch, at the Internationales Tanzfestival NRW.A woman dances
with her shadow, her alter ego, her partner, a voyeur.
It follows her, guides her, dances and struggles with her. It is a double, a partner in dance, a lover and an
adversary, reliable and dangerous at the same time.
The dance takes place in the tension between love, trust, female sexuality and violence, posing existential
questions.Emio Greco, an Apulian dancer and choreographer, and Pieter C. Scholten, director in the alternative
theater scene in the Netherlands, joined their talents in the 1990s, with a language characterized by tension and
synchronicity that draws on both the classical vocabulary and postmodern dance.

Organized by Rimini Classica and Yourvoice Records, the second edition of the Rimini Festival begins- Section

Crossroads: Enrico Rava & Joe Lovano Quintet

Traveling Jazz festival in Emilia Romagna at the Galli Theater
Crossroads, the 21st edition of the traveling Jazz show throughout Emilia Romagna, presents the musical
performance by Enrico Rava & Joe Lovano Quintet.
Launched in November 2018, this quintet brought together, after more than twenty years, two international jazz
stars such as Joe Lovano and Enrico Rava.
We find them leading a band whose rhythm section strengthens the USA-Italy dialogue, with Dezron Douglas,
Nasheet Waits and Giovanni Guidi.
On the music stand there is mainly original music written by Rava and Lovano, as well as some standards: a mix
of modern and lyrical jazz, engaging and exciting. From a concert held at the Auditorium Parco della Musica in
Rome the CD Roma (ECM) was recorded. It won the Top Jazz as the best Italian jazz record of 2019 , while in the
same referendum Rava was elected the best Italian musician of the year.

Rimini Marathon returns.
A special edition on the occasion of the centenary of Federico Fellini's birth and for this renamed 'Amarcor Rimini
Marathon'.
A national and international event that involves an entire city, touching the most characteristic and evocative
places and squares.
In addition to the marathon: Family Run 9 km, Kids Run 1.8 km and the national running event, TEN MILES on
the distance of 10 miles, or 16.094m, FIDAL approved.
Also this year will be re-proposed the national meeting of wheelchair pushers, or groups that make disabled
people experience the excitement of a marathon, pushing the wheelchairs for all 42 kilometers.
The marathon village set up at the Arco d'Augusto will offer music and culinary specialties on Saturday evening.

Opera Season 2020
Turandot opens the 2020 Opera Season of the Galli Theater.
The latest masterpiece by Giacomo Puccini is a lyrical drama in three acts and five scenes by Giuseppe Adami
and Renato Simoni inspired by the homonymous theatrical fairy tale by Carlo Gozzi. Giuseppe Frigeni signs
direction, scenes, lights and choreography for a show created by the Teatro Comunale of Modena and co-
produced by the Teatro Galli di Rimini with the Regio theater of Parma and the Municipality of Piacenza.
On stage the performers of the opera will be France Dariz (Turandot), Calaf (Carlo Ventre), Vittoria Yeo (Liù),
Fabio Previati (Ping), Roberto Covatta (Pang), Matteo Mezzaro (Pong), Paolo Antognetti (Altoum), Giacomo
Prestia (Timur) and Benjamin Cho (A mandarin). With Matteo Beltrami on the podium of the Philharmonic

Fellini 100: a conference entirely dedicated to this unicum in the history of cinema
Scholars, researchers, academics from all over the world in Rimini to interrogate, investigate and dissect the most
famous of the nocturnal journals, the album where Fellini noted, for over thirty years, his oneiric activity, a real
source of his overflowing inventive talent.
In fact, the purpose of the conference is to understand whether the Fellini book of cinema can be metaphorically
and literally "re-opened", with the confirmation of some lines of study and of new research perspectives, on the
occasion of the centenary of the director's birth and in the imminence of the opening of the new Federico Fellini
International Museum.

Born to give space to the vital scene of Italian contemporary dance, E ’bal (in the Romagna dialect the ball),
takes place from 1 November 2019 to 14 June 2020 in 8 Municipalities, including the Republic of San Marino.
The shows that take place in Rimini are: Sweet like a chocolate (19 March at 9 pm, at the Teatro degli Atti),
ILINX - don't stop the dance (5 April at 9 pm at the Teatro degli Atti), Energheia (8 April at 9pm at the Teatro

Second appointment of the section E 'bal - stages of Romagna for contemporary dance, at the Teatro Galli, with
Ilinx, the first choreographic action of the Homo Ludens project inspired by the conception of human playful
activity expressed by sociologist and anthropologist Roger Caillois.
According to Caillois the forms of the game can be summarised into four basic categories: agon, or competition;
alea, the desire and the pleasure of abandoning oneself to the whims of fate; mimicry, pretending to be someone
else in the game; ilinx, the excitement experienced during the game due to extraneous forces over which one has
no control.
Simona Bertozzi's choreography moves like an individual game, intoxicating to vertigo, with an original reflection
on the performer's solitude, the testimony of her playful universe and her stubborn dedication to the exercise and
precision of the gesture.

Last appointment of the section E 'bal - stages of Romagna for contemporary dance, at the Teatro Galli, with
Energheia, which indicates the act of transformation, the new work by Paola Bianchi, first chapter of the ELP
project. Focusing precisely on the transformations of the body, Energheia pays particular attention to the anatomy
and proximity of the gaze: Paola Bianchi asked about forty people which are the public images that even after
years continue to be alive in their visual memory.
The choreographer selected 88 that entered her body of dancer, deforming it, modifying its postures and tensions
to generate "states of the body".

Daniele Mancini on sax and Stefano Serafini on trumpet.

To celebrate the centenary of Federico Fellini's birth, the Oscar-winning film AMARCORD returns to the Fulgor

As is well known, the film narrates the memory of the director's childhood, transfigured by time, as the title of the
film says, 'a m'arcord', or 'I remember' in Romagna dialect.
Set in 1933 in a Rimini rebuilt in Cinecittà, the film tells the characters that populated the town, their habits, their
vices, fascism and anti-fascism.

The 'Black feathers' (this is how the Italian mountain troops are nicknamed) arrive for the first time on the
Riviera.
It will be a special edition because 100 years have passed since the first spontaneous meeting of the Alpine
troops.
A record participation is expected. The 2020 gathering will in fact be the first in Italy and abroad, involving the
territory including San Marino and it is estimated that around 500 thousand people will partecipate. The highlight
will be the great parade on Sunday 8 May with one hundred thousand 'Black feathers', among the
approximately 350 thousand registered at the Ana, divided into 110 sections, 80 in Italy and 30 abroad.
Among them there will also be 4,500 members of the Bolognese-Romagna section of the Ana "Angelo Manaresi",
chaired by Vittorio Costa, who also includes citizens from the Republic of San Marino.

The musical direction was entrusted for the occasion to the Italian maestro Nicola Luisotti, who set his direction on
meditated and expanded times, perhaps in an attempt to adapt to the solemn show signed by Robert Wilson.
The Turandot designed by Wilson for the Teatro Real in Madrid is a solemn and visually striking show, thanks to
the skilful use of lights, colors and a rigorous compositional symmetry of the scenes.
The three characters Wilson seems to have mainly focused on are Ping, Pong and Pang, which become real
masks (both in movements and in facial expressions), as if they had come out of the Commedia dell'Arte,
resulting the most successful characters of the work.

Final stage of the European Tour by Federico Mecozzi
Federico Mecozzi, violinist and multi-instrumentalist from Rimini, for ten years alongside Ludovico Einaudi,
concludes his European tour 2020 at the Galli Theater.
After the two sold out concerts in January 2019, in which he presented his debut album Awakening at the Galli
Theater, the artist will perform it again rearranging it completely, for the first time together with the Rimini Classica
Symphony orchestra.
"Awakening" is an album consisting of 11 tracks and contains several collaborations.
The first date of the concert, scheduled for May 16, is already sold out at the Teatro Galli in Rimini. A second
appointment has already been scheduled for the following day - Sunday 17 May - whose presale will open on 14
February.

Rimini Half Marathon
StraRimini is a UISP national road running race. It is the traditional half marathon of the Romagna Riviera (Km 21
- competitive), with a 35-year history.
The event offers a series of non-competitive tests that can be interpreted at any pace. Combined with the
competitive half marathon there will be a 10 km non-competitive marathon and a non-competitive tourist walk of 5
km. For the little ones there will be the mini walk StraRimini Baby, the 2 km recreational running track.
