Interactive Living History Tours - 9 Interactive Living Battle Site Walk 2pm History Tours Why not join us on a short walk from the Visitor Centre to Oldbridge Village, and see the strategic sites important Interactive: c.17th Social and Military Living to the events on the day of the Battle of the Boyne. Our History Displays soldier guide will bring history to life. 11am – 4pm FREE OF CHARGE (No booking necessary) In 2018, Interactive Military Living History will be c.17th Living History Workshops for Children returning to Oldbridge. Be transported back to the time of the Battle of the Boyne and learn all about the 12 – 1pm Baroque horses and the training of a cavalry trooper. Facilitated by a Social Living History Character, these workshops will be “hands on fun” for children of all ages. Witness for yourself the skills of a well trained Musketeer, Admission through visitor centre on a first come basis and hear about the regiments who fought at the battle in 1690. Parental supervision required at all times. Interactive Living History Tours - 11 Interactive: Victorian Living History Tours 12pm and 2pm Step back in time on a tour of the Victorian basement of Oldbridge House, and see how the servants worked below stairs. Our Living History tours will show you the tasks the servants were expected to perform, and will take you through the vaulted basement to bring history alive. This event is facilitated by “Time Steps Living History”. FREE OF CHARGE on a first come basis Victorian Garden Games 11am – 3pm To coincide with the Victorian Living History Tours, there will be Garden Games on the back lawn of Oldbridge House. Play some family friendly games that were popular in the Victorian Period, such as Badminton, Croquet, Quoits and Chess. Parental supervision required at all times. Education/Children’s Workshops - 13 Education Programme FREE Workbooks and Trails for Schools Designed for school groups and families, workbooks and trails are available to download FREE from www.battleoftheboyne.ie FREE Education Visits for Schools The OPW operate a “Free Educational Visits for Schools Educational Workbooks – for Primary and Second level Scheme”. This scheme is generally available to school students. Education/Children’s Workshops - 15 “Re-Create” Art Workshops for Children 12pm As part of the “Sculpture at Oldbridge” exhibition, there will be fun, creative workshops for children facilitated by “Re-Create”. These workshops will run as a complement to the art exhibition on display in the restored Victorian Walled Garden.
