Why join us in Valencia? A new annual event While embolisation has long been an integral part of CIRSE’s educational portfolio, ET shifts embolotherapy education into a higher gear, giving us a dedicated, annual embolisation conference which will enable the IR community to learn about the latest advances in the field of embolisation and expand its indications. ET represents an exciting new chapter for CIRSE: be with us from the beginning and support its development! Dedicated technical exhibition The new congress will also give IRs an opportunity to visit a state-of-the-art, specialist technical exhibition with a focus on embolisation. ET will be a perfect opportunity for our corporate partners to present updates, innovations and new products, and provide hands-on experience in their Learning Centres. Case Remedy Sessions The session formats at ET are cleanly structured to facilitate targeted learning. Amongst the session types are the interactive Case Remedy Sessions, which will feature four cases from a specific field, such as thorax/ENT or kidney, focusing on the personalised approach, other therapy options, technical aspects, outcome and follow-up. It is planned to have video-learning and audience voting as part of this session format. Special Topic Sessions Special Topic Sessions examine new or controversial developments in embolotherapy. Current evidence is central to their focus, and each session will address a particular procedure or procedure-type, such as joints, lymphatics, haemorrhoids or bariatric embolisation. Pre-operative venous embolisation before liver surgery promises to be particularly exciting! Morbidity and Mortality Conferences The inaugural ET conference will feature not one, but two Morbidity and Mortality Conferences, each with its own unique flavour. The “Good day” discussion will feature cases that involved a serious complication but had a positive outcome, while the “Bad day” session will address difficult cases which had a negative outcome. Both will offer important insights into how to avoid devastating complications. Valencia The striking, spacious Valencia Conference Centre is just one of the many sculpted, futuristic buildings (the most famous being the City of Arts and Sciences) that beautifully contrast the city’s historic architecture. Often overlooked in favour of its more glamorous sisters, Barcelona and Madrid, Valencia is nonetheless a vibrant, thriving city offering easy access, ample accommodation and incredible cuisine – not least the world-famous paella!
