Should it not be possible for us to stage the physical ceremony, the Awards will continue to reunite the sector at an online celebration where our 2021 shortlist and winners will receive the full recognition they deserve. Judging Process As the number of entries to the Water Industry Awards continues to grow, we have decided to continue MEET THE JUDGES with the two stage judging process. All entries will be reviewed by our judges online and scored against the criteria set out in this booklet and on the website. The top entries will be put forward for further discussion and debate, chaired in each instance by the lead judge. The panel will select a shortlist and a final winner. AWARD CATEGORY Women in Water Initiative of the Year Nineteen per cent of the water sector’s workforce are women, compared to 47 per cent for all sectors nationally, according to Energy & Utility Skills. There are six women water company chief executives and only one female board chair. WWT, working in partnership with British Water’s ‘Women on Water’ campaign, wants to change this by recognising projects across the whole sector that support women, focus on and harness their strengths and encourage more women to work in the sector.
