We have had to be kind, be brave, and be creative. We’ve learned new skills and tried new approaches. The conference theme invites those willing to share tools, tips, strategies, and stories for truly embracing (not just coping with) uncertainty in the physical education, health education and outdoor education environment. This conference is the premiere annual professional learning and development event for physical education, health education, and outdoor education teachers, lecturers, and researchers. The teachers who attend conference are innovative and creative. They know how to make learning fun and meaningful for students of all ability levels. They also love sharing their knowledge, ideas and activities with each other. They are influencers. It's not just the thousands of students and their whānau that our teachers regularly come into contact with. They are active on social media, sharing thoughts ideas, resources, great deals, and experiences with each other. Want an idea shared? - share it with a teacher! We are expecting between 200-250 attendees at the 2021 conference. The 2020 conference was cancelled due to Covid-19, and our members are chomping at the bit for quality face-to-face professional learning and development and to explore new approaches and tools. Our hosts Ao Tawhiti Ao Tawhiti is based in Christchurch’s CBD. Opened in 2019, Ao Tawhiti is a special character state school with a current role of 670 students in years 1-13. The school is on four levels with a combination of specialist and general learning spaces.
