Gubernatorial Election Outcomes • “Safe” incumbents won: • In Montana, Republican Greg Gianforte • Doug Burgum (R-ND) defeated Lt. Gov. Mike Cooney to capture • John Carney (D-DE) the state’s open seat. • Eric Holcomb (R-IN) • Jay Inslee (D-WA) • In Utah, Lt. Gov.
