NHS Scotland strongly recommends people get vaccinated. That is why we are asking you to continue to highlight the importance of getting vaccinated when invited. In East Dunbartonshire a number of Council buildings – Kirkintilloch, Bishopbriggs and Bearsden Community Hubs and Milngavie Town Hall – will be illuminated in orange on the first and last day of the campaign to raise awareness of the 16 Days campaign and to encourage residents to learn more about the efforts being made to eliminate gender based violence. The Kirkintilloch Soroptimists have invited other organisations to join them at Kirkintilloch Library for a photo call to show solidarity against gender based violence. New App Launch in ED ED are now at the implementation stage of Mind Of My Own Apps, The child protection committee have facilitated 4 demo training sessions across Children's Services workforce, with colleagues now introducing the app to children and young people they are working with. The voice of a child should be the golden thread of our practice, in their planning they carry a responsibility to ensure that the child?s voice shines through in a way that allows us to understand how plans and any work with the family is working or not working for them, this tool can help us to better achieve this. What is Mind Of My Own? Mind Of My Own create apps that make it easier for children and young people to express their views and for workers to evidence them. Over 70+ organisations are already successfully using Mind Of My Own apps to evidence the views of their young people using their services. There are two features ? the One app and Express. The One app helps young people communicate their views in a way that suits them. Young people create their own account on the One app, which can be used on any device. Express is an accessible app for younger children and those with additional needs to express their views. Express can only be access through a worker?s account. How does Mind Of My Own work? Once a young person has used either the One or Express app to share their views, wishes and feelings, Mind Of My Own creates a clear and dynamic statement of their views that can be attached to case records.. A young person can sign up to the One app on their own but might need your encouragement to use it for the first time. If you would like more information please get in touch with Lorraine Sent on behalf of East Dunbartonshire Child Protection Committee 8
