Upgrade Scope Reminder – INFN Activities 2. Enfourneur2: INFN Rome 1. Complete Redesign of the readout Second ECAL insertion/extraction tool • INFN Torino: ADC and Data needed to match LS3 installation Transmission Unit (LiTE-DTU) 12 bit, 160 schedule Mhz sampling 1.28 Gbit/s transmission 3. HV system: INFN Rome • New HV boards • Cables
LiTE-DTU Status • LiTE-DTU v1.0 : Because of I2C bus problems only two IC samples were tested. • S/N ratio: the design 10.2 bit ENOB at 50 MHz is nearly met but only with external clock. Internal clock generation (PLL block from lpGBT) affected by large deterministic jitter (~20ps). • DNL still under investigation • Calibration of the two 80 MHz ADC cores more delicate than expected • Extensive review work with Cern and Adesto ( designer of the ADC block) allowed to identify the origin of the problem and bring several improvements (including inter-core calibration). New version of the lpGBT PLL. • v1.2 (intermediate additional version) submitted in May, expected beginning of August • Will be integrated onto the VFE. Two-trigger-towers test 3
LiTE-DTU Test Bench results Despite some sub-optimal features, noise floor is low and ENOB close to spec (external clock). DNL should be in [-0.9, 0.9] still under investigation (measurement procedure ?) 1. Input Sine wave 2. Spur from PLL 3. Imperfect intercalibration of the two cores 5
