INTRODUCTION TO WORLD OIL TOOLS INC. World Oil Tools Inc. is a manufacturer of inflatable packers used for oil and gas wells. The company is headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, Canada where all administration, engineering, and manufacturing take place. Following are the primary products and services provided by the company: 1) External Casing Packers Inflatable External Casing Packers are used on casing strings run into exploration and development wells. Packers isolate zones for many applications including lost circulation, gas migration, selective production, and casing centering. The packers are permanently installed into oil and gas wells. External casing packers are manufactured with a continuous mandrel through the tool minimizing leakage points in the tool. The casing mandrel is manufactured to the same weight, grade and thread specifications as the casing running string. Packer elements for this tool are available in 4, 10, or 20 foot lengths for positive sealing in irregular or fractured wellbores. Each tool is provided with a dual valve system to ensure packer inflation pressure is locked in the tool. 2) Inflatable Production-Injection Packers Inflatable Production-Injection Packers are used for workovers and completions performed in oil and gas wells. These tools are retrievable and may be used for a number of applications including water shut-off, production, injection, testing, squeeze cementing, bridge plugs or pressure testing casing patches. Inflatable Production-Injection Packers may be set inside open-hole or in casing. The long seal section of inflatable packers conforms well to irregular wellbores. These tools may be used inside vertical, deviated, or horizontal wellbores, and are available on a sales or rental basis. WORLD OIL TOOLS INC. Tel: +1 403 720 5155 Bay#6, 3504 – 72nd Avenue S.E. 3) Inflatable Straddle Packer Assemblies Inflatable Straddle Packer Assemblies are used for selectively isolating zones for temporary production, acidizing, injection, testing or pressure testing casing patches. Packers may be set inside open-hole or in casing. Inflatable Straddle Packer Assemblies may be used in vertical, deviated or horizontal wells. No tubing rotation is required to operate the system. Minimum interval spacing between the packers is one meter. A common application for this system is to locate water production in older producing wells. Once the zone of interest is located, an inflatable bridge plug or an inflatable scab liner system may be installed in the well to maximize oil or gas production. 4) Thru-Tubing Inflatable Packers Thru-Tubing Inflatable Packers are run inside existing tubing strings, and set in larger production casing located below the tubing. For most applications using these tools, it is not necessary to move a workover rig on to the location. Thru-Tubing packers are run into the wells using coiled tubing or slickline. Thru-Tubing Inflatable Packers are designed for high 3:1 expansion. Advanced elastomers combined with high-strength stainless steel strips used in the packers provide effective sealing under high differential conditions downhole. These tools may be supplied as permanent packers, retrievable packers, cement retainers or multi- set packers. 5) Drillstem Testing Tools World Oil Tools Inc. is a manufacturer and supplier of inflatable drillstem testing tools and accessories. Tools are available in 3.12”, 4.25”, and 5.00” diameters. World Oil Tools Inc. is very committed to providing full technical, marketing, and operational support for your projects. ¾ INTRODUCTION Continuous Mandrel ECP assemblies are designed with packer elements in 4 Foot (1.22m), 10 Foot (3.05m), and 20 Foot (6.10m) lengths. World Oil Tools packer elements soundly conform to irregular or washed-out hole diameters. Steel reinforcement slats are used within the elements to ensure that the ECP self-centers itself in vertical, deviated or horizontal wellbores. Tools are available in Standard and Special clearance models. Standard clearance tools are used where higher differential pressures are encountered across the packer element. Special clearance tools are used for applications where restricted hole diameters may occur. Continuous Mandrel ECP assemblies are typically inflated with cement displacement fluid. An integral screen prevents coarse particles from entering the valve system. The valves are designed with high quality materials, which will not erode when abrasive materials are pumped through the system. The World Oil Tools valve system provides positive closing, after the element has been fully inflated to pre-determined pressure. After the shear valve has shifted to the final closed position, a mechanical locking device ensures that no further movement will occur. World Oil Tools inflatable elements are available with Standard and Advanced elastomer compounds. Standard elastomer compounds may be used for temperatures up to 240° F (115° C). Advanced elastomer compounds are made available for applications in which temperatures reach up to 350° F (180° C). ¾ FEATURES & BENEFITS The continuous one-piece mandrel eliminates the need for internal threaded connections. Mandrel specifications are identical to the casing used in the well. The Valve system is located above the packer element. Valve operation is not affected by unpredictable pressure changes below the element. Superior anchoring system prevents element rotation, and packer shoe travel, while tools are run into the well. World Oil Tools ECP’s are manufactured with high strength steel materials suitable for H2S and CO2 environments. Shear pins in the valves may be easily replaced in the field, allowing the operator greater flexibility when well conditions change. WORLD OIL TOOLS INC. ¾ APPLICATIONS To Prevent Loss of Cement External Casing Packers may be positioned in the casing string directly above a lost circulation zone. The packer effectively prevents the loss of high-density cement slurries into the lost circulation zone. For these applications, a second stage cementing operation is normally performed above the ECP, after setting the packer. To Prevent Gas Migration through Cement Columns In many wells, gas migration through cement slurry can be prevented by setting an External Casing Packer directly above a high pressure gas zone. Improved cement integrity will be achieved. To Prevent Unwanted Water Production An External Casing Packer may be positioned slightly above an oil-water or a gas-water contact, in order to minimize water production from those zones. To Minimize Damage To Sensitive Formations and Barefoot Completions In the past, barefoot completions were used to minimize formation damage to production zones. However, today’s technology, using under-balanced drilling methods, allows drilling of the well to the required total depth, and to set External Casing Packers directly above sensitive formations. For Centering Casing In Horizontal Wells Several External Casing Packers may be used on horizontal casing strings in order to centralize casing and to ensure even distribution of cement around the casing. Slotted Liners External Casing Packers may be positioned at one or more points on slotted liners. These packers may then be set at a later date, using cup-type tools. ¾ ECP VALVE SYSTEM World Oil Tools ECP’s are designed with a minimum two valves per assembly, depending on size. The valves allow the ECP to be inflated and ensure that once inflated the pressure is maintained inside the element. The opening valve prevents any fluid from entering the packer element until a pre-determined pressure is reached inside the casing. The closing valve is sheared to the closed position once the inflate packer is fully expanded, and a pre-determined pressure is reached inside the element. Once internal casing pressure is bled off, the opening valve then moves into a locked closed position, and can never be re-opened. This is a safety feature that prevents damage to the casing in the unlikely event that the packer element was to rupture. Each World Oil Tools valve is specially Hard-Kote treated. Testing shows, that when inflating using large inflation volumes, which can be encountered on larger assemblies, severe washing and erosion will occur in ECP valves. Hard-Kote treatment provides a surface hardness in excess of Rockwell (Rc) 80, which minimizes the effects of abrasives. ECP valve pressure settings may be easily changed on location, just prior to running the tool using the supplied shear pin cards. WORLD OIL TOOLS INC. ¾ Introduction The Inflatable Single Set Production-Injection Packer is used for isolating zones in open-hole or in casing. The tool is retrievable and may be used for testing, treating, production, or injection. The Single Set, Rotational Release Production-Injection Packer may be used in vertical or deviated wells. Inflatable packers elements for this tool are 1.67 m. (66 Inches) in length. High strength aircraft cable is used to provide good expansion characteristics in washed out or irregular well bores, as well as to provide high differential pressure capabilities. Cable reinforcement allows these inflatable packer elements to return very close to the original run-in diameter. In addition, these elements are less likely to lose rubber down hole because superior bonding occurs between the rubber and cable. ¾ Features & Benefits Inflatable Packer Elements provide greater clearance through restrictions in a well. Tool requires no rotation for setting or releasing the packer The system does not depend on a poppet valve to maintain pressure in the packer element. A sliding sleeve is mechanically shifted to maintain inflation pressure in the packer. A cable-reinforced packer element provides superior bonding of rubber to cable, and therefore less rubber is likely to be lost downhole. The system allows pressure to be fully equalized across the packer element prior to unsetting the packer. This minimizes packer element damage ¾ Applications Water Shut-off Single-Set packers may be used for long term production to block water encroachment zones in a well. As the life of a well increases, water coning may occur. Also, water production may start occurring from fractures or channels. Inflatable packers provide an effective seal in open hole or in casing, to block this unwanted water production. Production Single Set Inflatable Packers are also very effective for production applications. The packer serves two purposes when used for these applications. Firstly, the inflatable packer element provides a very effective seal in open hole or in casing. Secondly, the element anchors solidly in open hole or in casing, to prevent tubing reciprocating or rotational movement at the tool. For production applications, flow of oil or gas may occur from below the tool. A pumpout sub enables the flow passage through the tool to be opened for production, after the packer has been set. Alternatively, flow of oil or gas may take place from the production zone above WORLD OIL TOOLS INC. Tel: +1 403 720 5155 Bay#6, 3504 – 72nd Avenue S.E. the packer. A circulating valve (hydraulic, rotational type, or impact plug type) enables the flow passage above the tool to be opened, after the packer has been set. Injection Single Set Inflatable Packers may be used for injection of fluids in disposal wells. A large internal bore, equivalent to the running string, is provided through the tool. For long term disposal applications it is very important that materials used in manufacturing these tools, are able to resist highly corrosive environments typically associated with disposal wells. For disposal applications, fluid is normally injected to the zone located below the tool. A pumpout sub enables the injection passage through the tool to be opened for injection, after the packer has been set. Testing Single Set Inflatable Packers may be used for testing zones in open hole or in casing. Zones may be isolated to determine oil, gas, or water production from certain sections. Testing of each zone will determine which fluid is produced from that section. Also, testing will determine flow rates the zone. Electronic Pressure-Temperature Recorders as well as Shut-In Tools, may be used with the system to provide additional subsurface data from zones being tested. For testing applications, flow of well fluids may take place from the zone located above the packer. It is recommended that a rotational circulating valve be used directly above the tool. After the packer has been set, this valve may be rotated to open the flow ports. Once the required information from that zone is obtained, the valve may be rotated to close the flow ports. Testing may then take place from the zone located below the tool. A pumpout sub enables the flow passage through the tool to be opened for testing. Treating Single Set Inflatable Packers may be used for treating zones in open hole or in casing. A large internal bore equivalent to the running string, is provided through the tool. This large bore minimizes frictional effects and does not provide restrictions for treatment at high pump rates. Typical treatments performed through the tool would be fracturing, acidizing, polymer injection for water shut-off, and acid washes. For treating applications, a circulating valve is used above the tool. This valve is opened to allow treatment fluid to be pumped from surface, to the tool. Once the treatment fluid is spotted to the tool, the circulating valve is closed, and treatment fluid is then injected to the zone located below the packer. Squeeze Cementing Single Set Inflatable Packers may be used for squeeze cementing zones in open hole or in casing. These packers provide greater clearance for running tools into a well where there are restrictions such as casing patches. In addition, the long seal section provided with an inflatable element is more effective in older wells where casing may be partially corroded. These packers are particularly effective for squeeze cementing required to abandon old wells. WORLD OIL TOOLS INC. Tel: +1 403 720 5155 Bay#6, 3504 – 72nd Avenue S.E. ¾ Applications (Continued) For squeeze cementing applications, a circulating valve is used above the tool. This valve is opened to allow cement to be circulated from surface, to the tool. Once the cement is spotted at the tool, the circulating valve is closed, and cement is then squeezed into the zone located below the packer. Bridge Plug Single Set Inflatable Packers may be used as Bridge Plugs in a well, to isolate oil-water or gas- water contacts. These packers provide effective isolation in open hole or in casing. The long seal section provides additional assurance that good isolation will be provided where fractures or channels are present. For bridge plug applications, a bull plug is typically used below the tool. Also, an on-off seal assembly is used directly above the tool. Once the packer has been set, manipulation of the work string allows tubing to be disconnected from the tool. In horizontal wells, a hydraulic disconnect unit is typically used. Additional pressure applied after setting the packer, disconnects the tubing string from the packer. Pressure Testing Casing Patches Single Set Inflatable Packers are very effective for testing casing patches. Run-in diameter is reduced when a casing patch is set. An inflatable packer is designed with a reduced Outer Diameter (O.D.), which makes it possible to pass through a casing patch. For testing a casing patch, the single set inflatable packer is normally set directly below the patch. After the packer has been set, pressure is applied to the annulus above the packer. ¾ OPERATING PROCEDURES Operation of the Single Set Pull Release Inflatable Packer Assembly Prior to running the Single Set Pull Release Tool into the well, a decision must be made whether to run a pumpout sub, ball shear assembly, or a bull plug, at the bottom of the tool. A pumpout sub will not allow tubing to fill as the tool is run into the well. Shear Pins are used in this sub and these may be set at a pre-determined value based on accessory tools used, and downhole operating conditions. A pumpout sub is normally used in highly deviated or horizontal wells. A Ball Shear Assembly allows tubing to fill as the tool is run into the well. Also, fluids may be circulated down the tubing before dropping the ball from surface. A Bull Plug is typically used for bridge plug applications. To set the Single Set Pull Release Packer Apply pressure in tubing and hold pressure for a period of time in order to allow inflatable packer elements to fully inflate. It is recommended that pressure be held for a minimum time of 10 minutes. Release tubing pressure, and set a minimum of 2,200 DaN (5,000 Pounds) on the tool, to ensure the packer is set. Maintain this weight for a minimum period of five minutes, and then proceed with subsequent operations. To Unset the Single Set Pull Release Packer Apply a straight upward pull to the tool, in order to shear the screws. Each Shear Screw is rated for 2,200 DaN (5,000 Pounds). Once the screws are sheared, wait a minimum period of five minutes to allow the inflatable packer element to fully deflate. WORLD OIL TOOLS INC. Tel: +1 403 720 5155 Bay#6, 3504 – 72nd Avenue S.E. ¾ OPERATING PROCEDURES Prior to running the Single Set, Rotational Release Tool into the well, a decision must be made whether to run a pumpout sub, ball shear assembly, or a bull plug, at the bottom of the tool. To set the Single Set, Rotational Release Packer Apply pressure in tubing and hold pressure for a period of time in order to allow inflatable packer elements to fully inflate. To Unset the Single Set, Rotational Release Packer Apply a slight upward pull to the tool, and then apply Right-Hand rotation to the tubing string. Six rotations are required at the tool in order to thread the release coupling fully out of the Upper Packer Adapter. After rotating, apply an additional upward pull of 1,000 to 2,000 DaN (2,000 to 5,000 Pounds) to the tool and wait for five minutes in order to allow the packer element to fully deflate. After the waiting period work the tool up and down to ensure the tool is unset. WORLD OIL TOOLS INC. Tel: +1 403 720 5155 Bay#6, 3504 – 72nd Avenue S.E. ¾ INTRODUCTION The Inflatable Multi-Set Production-Injection Packer is used for isolating zones in open-hole or in casing. The tool is re-settable and may be used for testing, treating, production, or injection of several zones with each trip into the well. This tool is designed for long-term downhole production or injection applications. The Inflatable Multi-Set Production-Injection Packer may be used in vertical, deviated, or horizontal wells. No rotation is required to set the packer; however right-hand rotation is required to unset the packer. There are several options available for re-setting multi-set packers. These include: Re-set Darts along with a perforated plug catcher are used when pumping or testing must take place through the tool. An expendable ball may be used. A standing valve may be used. A Wireline plug may be used. A solid Pumpout plug or bull plug may be used when no pumping or testing through the packer is required. Inflatable packers elements for these tools are 1.67 m. (66 Inches) in length. High strength aircraft cable is used to provide good expansion characteristics in washed out or irregular well bores. Cable reinforcement allows these inflatable packer elements to return very close to the original run-in diameter while providing high differential pressure capabilities. The Packer elements are designed in such a way that bulging due to high differential pressure is less likely to occur. Due to superior bonding between the cable and rubber these elements lose less rubber down hole. ¾ APPLICATIONS Water Shut-off Multi-Set packers may be used for short-term or long-term production to block water encroachment zones in a well. As the life of a well increases, water coning may occur. Also, water production may start occurring from fractures or channels. Inflatable packers provide an effective seal in open hole or in casing, to block this unwanted water production. Production Multi-Set Inflatable Packers are also very effective for production applications. The packer serves two purposes when used for these applications. Firstly, the inflatable packer element provides a very effective seal in open hole or in casing. Secondly, the element anchors solidly in open hole or in casing, to prevent tubing rotation or reciprocation at the tool. Injection Multi-Set Inflatable Packers may be used for injection of fluids in disposal wells. A large internal bore is provided through the tool. For long term disposal applications it is very important that materials used in manufacturing these tools, are able to resist highly corrosive environments typically associated with disposal wells. ¾ APPLICATIONS (Continued) Testing Multi-Set Inflatable Packers may be used for testing zones in open hole or in casing. Treating Multi-Set Inflatable Packers may be used for treating zones in open hole or in casing. Squeeze Cementing Multi-Set Inflatable Packers may be used for squeeze cementing zones in open hole or in casing. These packers provide greater clearance for running tools into a well where there are restrictions such as casing patches. In addition, the long seal section provided with an inflatable element is more effective in older wells where casing may be partially corroded. These packers are particularly effective for squeeze cementing required to abandon old wells. For squeeze cementing applications, a circulating valve is used above the tool. This valve is opened to allow cement to be circulated from surface, to the tool. Once the cement is spotted at the tool, the circulating valve is closed, and cement is then squeezed into the zone located below the packer. Pressure Testing Casing Patches Multi-Set Inflatable Packers are very effective for testing casing patches. ¾ INTRODUCTION The Permanent Inflatable Bridge Plug is used for isolating zones in open-hole or in casing. This tool is not retrievable. The Permanent Inflatable Bridge Plug may be used in vertical, deviated, or horizontal wells. No rotation is required to set the packer, however six right hand rotations are required to release the tubing string from the packer. Inflatable packers elements for this tool are 1.67 m. (66 Inches) in length. High strength aircraft cable is used to provide good expansion characteristics in washed out or irregular well bores, as well as to provide high differential pressure capabilities. In addition, optional exposed cable packer elements are available to provide superior anchoring in casing. A running tool is required for running the Permanent Inflatable Bridge Plug into the well, and for disconnecting the tubing string from the Bridge Plug. Six right-hand rotations are required at the tool for disconnecting. ¾ APPLICATIONS Water Shut-off The primary application for Permanent Inflatable Bridge Plug Assemblies is to block water production zones in a well. As the life of a well increases, water coning may occur. Also, water production may start occurring from fractures or channels. Inflatable packers provide an effective seal in open hole or casing, to block this unwanted water production. Abandonment of Wells Permanent Inflatable Bridge Plug Assemblies may be used for abandonment of wells. For these applications, well operators want a very economical, but yet very effective seal in open hole or in casing. For these applications, cement may also be used directly above the plug for additional long-term seal integrity. Re-Entry Wells and Whipstocks Permanent Inflatable Bridge Plug Assemblies may be used for abandonment of the original wellbore in re-entry wells or whenever a whipstock is required. Cement Retainer Permanent Inflatable Bridge Plug Assemblies may be used for squeeze cementing zones and left as a cement retainer in open hole or in casing. These packers provide greater clearance for running tools into a well where there are restrictions such as casing patches. In addition, the long seal section provided with an inflatable element is more effective in older wells where casing may be partially corroded. These packers are particularly effective for squeeze cementing required to abandon old wells. For cement retainer applications, a check valve assembly or a latch-down plug catcher assembly must be installed at the bottom of the tool. WORLD OIL TOOLS INC. ¾ INTRODUCTION World Oil Tools Inc. is pleased to introduce our newly developed Re-Settable Inflate Test and Treat System (RITTS). The RITTS is designed for treating, testing, or injecting of single or multiple intervals in a well-bore without the requirement of tripping between operations. The system can be operated via a single packer or a straddle packer configuration. Full bore capabilities permit maximum pumping rates with reduced horsepower requirements. Results: Less Rig Time….Less Horsepower….Less Cost! The Inflatable Multi-Set Production-Injection Packer is used for isolating zones in open-hole or in casing. This tool is designed for long-term downhole production or injection applications. The Inflatable Multi-Set Production-Injection Packer may be used in vertical, deviated, or horizontal wells. No rotation is required to set the packer or release the packer. Inflatable packer elements for this tool are 1.67 m. (66 Inches) in length. High strength aircraft cable is used to provide good expansion characteristics in washed out or irregular well bores. Cable reinforcement allows these inflatable packer elements to return very close to the original run-in diameter while providing high differential pressure capabilities. ¾ OPERATIONAL SEQUENCE As the RITTS tool is being run into the hole the tool auto-fills due to the large unrestricted bore through the tool which also permits circulation through the tool. Run in position ensures that the packer element remains equalized preventing premature inflation of the packer element. During the inflation sequence a reset dart or ball is launched from surface and pumped onto the seat. Fluid is then blocked to the annulus and through the packer I.D. Fluid is then diverted through concentric passages to the inflation channels of the packer element. It is then permissible to increase pressure in even increments allowing the packer element to fully inflate properly. Once the desired differential pressure is reached within the element pressure must be held for 10 minutes to allow the packer element to fully square off. During the inflation pressure lock-in sequence weight is slacked off onto the tool by shifting the lug mandrel blocks the inflation channels trapping the pressure in the element. Shifting the lug mandrel also blocks ports from the I.D. of the tool to the annulus. Once packer seat is verified tubing pressure can be increased to the pre-determined pressure to shear the ball seat or the reset dart. In the case of the re-set dart the dart shears allowing the collets to collapse and pass fully through the tool landing in the dart sub catcher on the bottom of the tool. Fluid is then able to flow through the large unrestricted bore of the tool to below the packer. Once testing or treating has been finished weight is picked up off the string to begin the deflation sequence. The packer element inflation channels and annulus ports are opened allowing the packer to equalize and deflate close to its original run-in diameter. The tool is now back to its original run-in position ready to be moved to another interval. Additional darts may be pumped from surface providing virtually unlimited setting in one trip into the well. WORLD OIL TOOLS INC. Tel: +1 403 720 5155 Bay#6, 3504 – 72nd Avenue S.E. ¾ RUNNING PROCEDURES Setting the Multi-Set Packer • Run in hole to setting depth at moderate speed. Avoid any sudden stops. • Take additional care in open hole. • On depth, establish up weights and down weights. The pipe may be circulated or filled, as required. • Insert the re-set dart into the string. Circulate to depth at 2 bbls/min. and reducing to ¼ bbl/min when within 3-5 bbls of the tool. • Apply 1200 PSI differential pressure at the packer to inflate the element, and hold pressure for 5 minutes. • Slack off 5000 pounds weight on the tool to shift the inflate mandrel closed and to check packer setting. Once packer setting is confirmed, pressure may be applied in the annulus to check for casing leaks. • If pressure testing must be performed through the drillstring or tubing, apply pressure of 1800 PSI in the string to shear out the re-set dart. Note three shears screws are required in the re-set dart (each shear screw is rated at 600 PSI). The re-set dart will land into the plug catcher sub run below the packer. • Proceed with pressure testing. Unsetting and Re-setting the Packer • To unset the packer, apply an upward pull of 2000 to 5000 pounds to the tool. Wait 15 minutes to allow the packer to deflate. • Position the packer at the next setting depth. • Insert the re-set dart into the string. Circulate to depth at 2 bbls/min. and reducing to ¼ bbl./min when within 3-5 bbls of the tool. Retrieving the Packer • To unset the packer, apply an upward pull of 2000 to 5000 pounds to the tool. Wait 15 minutes to allow the packer to deflate. • Pull out of the hole. WORLD OIL TOOLS INC. ¾ INTRODUCTION The Thru-Tubing Inflatable Packer (TTIP) is used for isolating zones in open-hole or in casing. TTIP’s are normally run through a tubing string and set in larger open-hole or casing located below the tubing string. The Thru-Tubing Inflatable Packer may be used in vertical, deviated, or horizontal wells. In many applications, thru-tubing packer elements are required to expand up to three times the original run-in diameter, maintain high differential pressure across the packer element, and then return to its original run-in diameter. High strength Stainless Steel strips are used to provide excellent expansion characteristics for setting this packer in larger diameter casing or open-hole located below the tubing string. A variety of chemical resistant elastomer compounds are available suitable for temperature up to 350o F (180o C). The thru-tubing inflatable packer elements are typically supplied with a standard elastomer compound which is suitable for temperatures up to 240o F (115o C); high temperature compounds are available upon customer request. Long, 48” (1.22m), elastomer seal lengths provide excellent anchoring capabilities while still maintaining a positive seal in open-hole or cased hole application. ¾ APPLICATIONS Permanent Bridge Plug The Thru-Tubing Permanent Bridge Plug is designed for permanent installation to block unwanted production from lower zones in a well. The Thru-Tubing Permanent Bridge Plug is typically run into the well using coiled tubing. The packer is designed such that no balls or darts need to be pumped from surface in order to operate the tool. The opening valve in the tool prevents fluid from entering the packer element until the tool is positioned at the correct setting depth. Pressure is applied in the tubing the opening valve shears allowing the packer to inflate. As pressure increases in the packer element, the closing valve shears to permanently lock inflation fluid in the packer. The coiled tubing string is disconnected from the Thru-Tubing Permanent Bridge Plug by using a hydraulic or shear style disconnect assembly in conjunction with this packer. Cement may be spotted above the packer after the coiled tubing has been unlatched. This packer is not retrievable. Cement Retainer The Thru-Tubing Cement Retainer is designed for squeeze cementing. The Thru-Tubing Cement Retainer is typically run into the well using coiled tubing. This tool is designed so fluid is allowed to enter the tubing string, and yet no balls or darts are required to be pumped from surface in order operate the tool. In conjunction with the cement retainer a velocity valve is used to allow circulation of fluids to the tool, after the packer is set. A double flapper valve prevents back-flow of cement after squeezing. The coiled tubing string is disconnected from the cement retainer by use of a hydraulic disconnect or shear disconnect assembly with this packer. Additional cement may be spotted above the packer after the coiled tubing has been unlatched. WORLD OIL TOOLS INC. Tel: +1 403 720 5155 Bay#6, 3504 – 72nd Avenue S.E. ¾ APPLICATIONS (CONTINUED) Multi-Set Packer The Thru-Tubing Multi-Set packer is used for testing, treating, production or injection. It is typically run into the well using coiled tubing. The tool is designed so fluid is allowed to enter the tubing string while running in, yet no balls or darts are necessary to inflate the packer. A velocity valve is used in conjunction with the retrievable packer to allow circulation of fluids to the tool after the packer has been set. The Thru-Tubing Multi-Set packer is typically used for acidizing, testing or treating zones below the packer. This tool is commonly used for pressure testing the annulus above the packer after a casing patch has been set. Retrievable Packer The Thru-Tubing Retrievable Packer is used for testing, treating, production, injection or as a retrievable bridge plug. It is typically run into the well using coiled tubing. The tool is designed so fluid is allowed to enter the tubing string while running in, yet no balls or darts are necessary to inflate the packer. The valve cannot be re-opened when squeeze pressure is applied to the tubing. A velocity valve is used in conjunction with the retrievable packer to allow circulation of fluids to the tool after the packer has been set. An expendable ball and seat assembly allows fluid to be pumped through the packer. WORLD OIL TOOLS INC. Tel: +1 403 720 5155 Bay#6, 3504 – 72nd Avenue S.E.
