Board of Education Board of Education Members Board of Ed Contact Number. . (516) 876-7516 Central Administration Dr. Kenneth A. Card, Jr. The seven-member Board of Education is elected Superintendent of Schools by the registered voters of the district. Board members Alisa Baroukh, President Anthony Russo serve for three-year terms without pay and are (Board Term Expires June 30, 2023) Assistant Superintendent for Personnel and responsible under state law for establishing the policies Matthew Melnick, Vice President Administration governing the operation of the East Meadow Schools. (Board Term Expires June 30, 2022) Dr. Patrick Pizzo Board of Education Meetings begin at 7 p.m. The Assistant Superintendent for Business and Finance Board provides two opportunities for public comments Dr. Scott Eckers (Board Term Expires June 30, 2023) Dr. David Casamento by members of the audience. The first is at the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction beginning of the meeting, where the public may speak Dr. Jodi Luce to any of the items on the agenda listed as “discussion Jennifer Frisenda (Board Term Expires June 30, 2022) Assistant Business Administrator and action” items. The second opportunity is at the end Eileen Napolitano of the meeting and is open for comments not related to agenda. Persons following the protocol may address the (Board Term Expires June 30, 2024) Curriculum Administration Board by making statements, requesting information Sharan Sokhey Betsy Lashin and presenting particular viewpoints. However, public (Board Term Expires June 30, 2022) Director of Special Education and Pupil Personnel Services comments regarding staff or other personnel matters, Melissa Tell Danielle Betz collective bargaining issues, pending legal matters and Assistant Director of Special Education and Pupil (Board Term Expires June 30, 2024) particular in-process items of finance are not subjects Personnel Services for public comment or discussion. The Board of Kelly Anne Gelfer Education welcomes input on these issues in written Board Committee Chairpersons Director of Music and Art form. DECEMBER 2021 S M T W T F S 1 2 To celebrate the diversity of their student population, McVey Elementary School created a “Culture Tour,” which 1 2 3 4 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 includes a hallway full of flags donated by community members that represent the heritages of all students. Additionally, 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 the halls were adorned with various projects created by students about their cultures.
