INVITATION 28 November 2020 Dear Colleagues, Covid-19 has taken the entire world by utter surprise. It has shown that we as human race are ill-prepared to handle this. India has suffered a lot along with the rest of the world. Economics, social life, developments and realization of dreams have all taken back seat. So have academics. Internet meetings have to some extent mitigated the downturn. Soon after ESSW-20 meet in February, India was put on halt-mode. However the light at the end of tunnel seems to be glimmering. We hope to carry on and bounce back to realize our cherished dreams. The next event, “Ear and Sinus Surgery Workshop -2021” in Nashik will be held from 24th February to 1st March, 2021. Since we can take in only 120 delegates and the seats get filled up quickly, we have been advised to publish the dates in advance for the convenience of delegates who intend to attend. The course is designed is such a way that the basic and advanced surgeries are addressed very well for the beginners and for the experienced surgeons. These surgeries for the ear and nose are a well mix of its medical-science and surgical-art. We have hands-on wet temporal bone and cadaveric endoscopic sinus dissection for delegates under guidance of faculty with individual attention. The basic and advanced temporal bone dissection course will take the delegates from how to hold the dissection specimen, to sitting posture while dissection, to cortical mastoidectomy, to labyrinthectomy, to translabyrinthine approach for IAM, without leaving anything in between. The basic dissection is for two days, with each delegate having their own wet specimen. Similarly the endoscopic sinus dissection will cover from basic to advance like how to hold an endoscope to ethmoidectomy to frontal recess approach to skull base exposure, again without leaving any thing in between. Each delegate will have their own wet specimen. The 2 days of intense dissection will be followed by 2 days of live surgical demonstrations. As always the focus of the organizers will be pure in intension, approach and implementation. Academics and practical tips and tricks will alone prevail during these eventful days. The registrations for the workshop will begin from 30th November 2020 onwards. Please note that in case, due to Government pandemic-regulations, ESSW-21 meet needs to be postponed, new dates will be announced without any alteration in the program. For those delegates who find the new dates inconvenient, and they inform us with in 20 days of declaration of new dates, their delegate fees will be returned, without any deductions. In an unlikely event where ESSW-21 needs to be cancelled for good, all delegate fees will be returned after deducting Rs. 500/- only. The ESSW-21 will be held as internet meeting with participation limited for only registered delegates, so as to have an intense and meaningful interaction. Dr.Gauri Mahajan Organizing Secretary.
