Debbie Scott Rotary 7690 District Governor 2022-2023 Debbie was born in Orlando, Florida and graduated from the University of Florida. She moved to North Carolina in 2018 and is a member of the Jonesboro-Sanford Rotary Club. Debbie has been in Rotary since January 1995 and has perfect attendance since the day she joined. Debbie received Rookie Rotarian of the Year award in 1995 from her 285 member Gainesville Rotary Club. She held numerous positions in this club and became President in 2000-01. Debbie became Assistant Governor in District 6970 from 2001–03 and had the honor to charter two new clubs in Ocala, FL. She also was District 6970 Treasurer in 2003-05. Debbie Scott 5475 NC HWY 24-27 Debbie moved to Michigan in 2005 and became Assistant Governor Cameron, NC 28326 in District 6330 from 2006-08. Debbie then moved back to Florida 352-665-8282 and became the District 6950 Foundation Annual Giving Chair from debbiebransonscott@gmail.com 2013-14 and Foundation Area Rep from 2014-17. The Trustees of The Rotary Foundation in 2016 bestowed upon Debbie the Citation for Meritorious Service in recognition of her outstanding service to The Rotary Foundation. Debbie is a Major Donor, Paul Harris Society member, Bequest Society member, and Benefactor. Debbie has had the honor of becoming a faculty member of the Zone 33 Mid Atlantic Division Rotary Leadership Institute. Since 1983 Debbie has held an active Florida Real Estate License and was a Multi-Million Dollar Producer. She was voted BEST of BEST Winner for Real Estate agent from 2013-17. Debbie also has her North Carolina Real Estate License as of February 2019 and is a Realtor at Sanford Real Estate. She has a daughter and son-in-law and 2 grandsons here in North Carolina. In her spare time, Debbie enjoys being with her grandsons and family. Debbie also enjoys being with her other half traveling, being outdoors, riding our motorcycle, watching drag races (especially when he is racing) and watching Hallmark Christmas movies. 6
Van Lankford Rotary 7690 District Governor 2023-2024 Van Lankford is a native of North Wilkesboro, NC. He is a graduate of Gardner Webb University, Southeastern Seminary (Master of Divinity), and Union Theological Seminary in Richmond, where he earned his Doctor of Ministry degree in 1997. Van served in pastoral ministry for 23 years and served churches in Wadesboro, Dobson, and Mocksville. In 2011, he made a career change and founded the franchise office of Home Instead in Mount Airy, which serves senior adults in Surry and Stokes counties with their activities of daily living. Van Lankford Van’s Rotary story began in February 2001 when a neighbor and 171 Stonecroft Road retired dentist invited him to his first Rotary meeting. Later that year, Mt. Airy, NC, 27030 he joined the Rotary of Club of Mocksville. He served the Mocksville club in many capacities and in 2010-2011 served the club as President. 336-407-1579 During his tenure, the Mocksville club became the 13th club in the vhlankford@gmail.com district to become a Triple Crown club. In July of 2011, when he was starting his new business in Mount Airy, Van joined the Rotary Club of Mount Airy. He served the Mount Airy Club as Foundation Chair, Polio Plus Chair, and in 2014-2015 he served as club President. Van has also been active in District 7690 serving two terms as a Foundation Advocate, the District Conference Committee, and serving Area 1 as an Assistant Governor from 2018 – 2021. He is a Paul Harris Fellow, Sustaining Member, Benefactor, member of the Paul Harris Society, and a Major Donor. Van attends and is active at Piney Grove Baptist Church in Mount Airy. He is a member of the Board of Directors of The Shepherd’s House homeless shelter in Mount Airy, as well as a board member of the Surry County Arts Council. He is also a volunteer with Surry Medical Ministry and Surry County Meals on Wheels. Van and his wife Ann have been married since 1989. Ann is a retired educator and is co-owner of the Mount Airy Home Instead office. They have two grown children. Their daughter Molly is a Registered Nurse and lives in Elkin with her husband Alan, who works for Frito Lay. Their son, Evan, lives in Greensboro and works in automotive digital marketing for Dealer Inspire, and his wife, Jessie, is a School Psychologist with Guilford County Schools. Van is also “Pawpaw” to two granddaughters, Savannah Brooke Hudson and Allie Kate Hudson. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family and traveling. 7
Ron Pierce Rotary 7690 District Governor 2024-2025 Ron was born in Rocky Mount, NC and lived there until he attended and graduated from Gardner-Webb University with a degree in Religious Education. A licensed minister and former part-time youth pastor for churches in Siler City and Denton, NC, Ron felt his calling to serve others more while working in corporate America. Holding positions in Information Technology ranging from an instructor, database & network administrator to Help Desk manager, Ron had the opportunity to start his own IT Managed Services company, Trinity Solutions, Inc., in 2003. In 2010, after many years of business networking, Ron joined the Guilford Rotary Club looking for networking opportunities and Ron Pierce giving back to the community. Immediately, he was assigned to 6568 Hunting Lodge Rd. be the Interact Chair for Western Guilford and was awarded Climax, NC 27233 Rotarian of the Year in 2010. He served in this role for several years until deciding to begin the process to be Club President and 336-686-8090 serve in 2018-2019. He then began serving as an Assistant ron.pierce@trinitysolutionsinc.com Governor for Area 11 in 7690. Ron is a Paul Harris Fellow as well as Paul Harris Society member. He is also a supporter of the Polio Plus Promise Initiative. He has served on the Member Attraction committee, District Annual Fundraising committee as well as spoken in several Club, District & Zone meetings & trainings about ways to reach people with the message of Rotary. Ron has been married for over 18 years to his lovely wife, Wendy, and they have a “mini-Brady Bunch” consisting of 3 Boys and 1 girl with one of the boys being married and bringing the first grandbaby in September 2021. Living in Climax, NC, they are also very devoted to animal rescue and personally have 9 cats and 1 dog (all rescues) which they consider as their “other kids.” 8

Clubs must achieve ALL mandatory requirements in each category to qualify for Platinum or Gold medalist. Clubs must complete AT LEAST 7 mandatory goals to qualify for Silver and Bronze medalist. How to Earn a Rotary Citation Your Rotary, Rotaract, or Interact club can earn a Rotary Citation for achieving goals that strengthen Rotary and your club. Goals include increasing club membership, developing sustainable service projects, giving to The Rotary Foundation, and building awareness of Rotary in your community. Citation for Rotary Clubs Citation goals can be found in Rotary Club Central. To achieve the Rotary Citation, review the 25 available goals, select at least 13, achieve those goals, then report your achievement in Rotary Club Central. All activities need to be completed by 30 June. Citation for Rotaract Clubs Rotaract clubs that achieve the Rotaract goals by the end of the Rotary year will earn a citation. Only Rotaract clubs that are listed as active in Rotary International’s database can earn the citation. To confirm that a club is active, Rotarians can check the Listing of Club‐Sponsored Organizations in Rotary Club Central. All activities need to be completed by 15 August. The Rotaract club president or Rotary sponsor club president can nominate a Rotaract club by completing the online nomination form for the citation by 15 August. Only one nomination should be submitted for any given Rotaract club. Citation for Interact Clubs Interact clubs that achieve the Interact goals by the end of the Rotary year will earn a citation. Only Interact clubs that are listed as active in Rotary International’s database can earn the citation. To confirm that a club is active, Rotarians can check the Listing of Club‐Sponsored Organizations in Rotary Club Central. All activities need to be completed by 15 August. The sponsor Rotary club’s president completes the online nomination form for the citation by 15 August. The most difficult part of the process is the six months before installation. Begin the planning process now and you will be better prepared to implement the activities and assignments during that period without being overwhelmed. This is a general outline you can tailor to the practices of your Club and your own goals and objectives. January 2022 (6 months): Vocational Service Month Meet with your Area Governor, President, Foundation and Membership Chairs to review the mid-year progress towards the club’s goals and objectives. Check club progress on achieving the Vision 2022: District Achievement Award and Presidential Citation. Review with your President the club’s current budget. Work on your draft calendar and Club Goals for your year. Make sure you know how to access and use the District Database and RI’s Rotary Club Central (My Rotary). Register for PETS, March 17-19 at Sheraton/Koury Convention Center. (Must attend PETS and should bring President Nominee as well) Notify DGE Debbie Scott if you are unable to attend Carolina’s PETS & then make arrangements to attend an out-of-district PETS session. Register through District Database to attend the virtual combined sessions of Pre-PETS & Grants Management Training on February 5th.
