A Message from Joseph Saladino Town Supervisor Dear Neighbor, The Town of Oyster Bay’s 2019-2020 Distinguished Artists Concert series will once again offer a diverse season of musical programs, which will kick off in October. Whatever your musical taste - opera, pop, jazz, classical or anything in between - there is something for everyone. The concert season will begin on Sunday, October 6, 2019 at the Jericho Public Library with The Guthrie Brothers performing their tribute to the music of Simon & Garfunkel and will culminate on Sunday, May 31, 2020 at the Syosset Public Library with Penny Lane performing their tribute to the music of The Beatles. This season’s lineup also includes an informative lecture/concert celebrating the history of Salsa presented by the Curator of Musical Instruments for the Metropolitan Museum of Art Jose Obando, Jewish songs sung in four languages by Dr. Lois Morton, a taste of vintage rock from the 50’s through the 70’s with The Precisions, jazz standards and soul classics performed by Rhonda Denet and the Silver Fox Songs Trio, a celebration of female composers presented by pianists Alexander Wu & Sasha Papernik and much, much more! My fellow Town Board members and I are proud to provide residents with some of the very finest cultural and performing arts entertainment available. All concerts are free of charge and are held at conveniently-located local libraries throughout the Town. Please take a few moments to glance through the brochure and begin planning your entertainment schedule. We look forward to seeing you at the concerts! Sincerely, JOSEPH SALADINO Town Supervisor Page 2
