the Vikings, welcomed Hollywood and has its own famous Dolphin called “Fungie”. We will stop in

WED, July 15th: Sligo Town & The Inishowen Peninsula
We depart Galway after breakfast at the hotel and head
towards Donegal. On the way we will stop at in Sligo for lunch.
While here we will vistit W.B. Yeats grave. Sligo was coined by
the Irish as “Yeats Country”, after this eminent Irish Poet.
W.B. Yeats spent a large portion of his childhood in this area.
He died in France in 1939 and according to his wishes he was
buried after a discreet and private funeral service at
Roquebrune-Cap-Martin – “if I die bury me up there and then
in a year’s time when the newspapers have forgotten me, dig me up and plant me in Sligo”. Which
did not work out, as the Second World War broke out and Yeats’ mortal remains were stuck in
France. Only in September 1948 were Yeats’ remains moved to Drumcliff and his epitaph was
taken from the last lines of his late poem: Under Ben Bulben: “Cast a cold Eye On Life, on Death
Horseman, pass by!”
Afterwards we will stop for a quick pint at Biddy O’barnes Famous Pub.
Continuing on through Donegal town, we will go up into the Inishowen Peninsula where we check
in for dinner and rest overnight.

Overnight: Ballyliffen Hotel & Strand Hotel - Split Hotels (B& D)

THURS, July 16th: Inishowen Peninsula
This morning after a leisurely breakfast we will set out to
explore the Inishowen Pensinsula. It is the largest
peninsula on the island of Ireland and includes Ireland's
most northerly point, Malin Head which is also the
starting point of the Wild Atlantic Way. No visit to
Inishowen is complete without a trip up the narrow,
winding road to reach this windswept spot. Stand at the
viewing point and you'll be treated to jaw-dropping views
and dramatic, unspoiled landscapes everywhere you
turn. We will also make a stop in Malin town before returning to our hotel. Malin is the hometown
of Declan Houton, where he was often seen nurturing his musical talents in the local pubs.
Tonight, we will enjoy dinner and a show back at our Ballyliffen Hotel.

                                                                                                   4

FRI, July 17th: Giants Causeway & the Antrim Coast
Today we Leave Ballyliffen and drive to the Giants
                                         Causeway along the Antrim coast.
The Giant’s Causeway is an amazing geologic formation
of approx. 40,000 basalt stone – some as tall as 130 feet,
and mostly hexagonal in shape. As Northern Ireland’s
Premiere landmark, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site,
you’ll be free to decide for yourself whether the
Causeway is a result of accelerated cooling of lava
outflows 60 million years ago or is it the work of the
legendary Irish giant, Finn MacCool, in his attempts to a) woo a distant lady giant, or b) meet a
Scottish giant in battle to determine who was the stronger giant? From here we will continue
toward Belfast making. This evening you will be able to explore Belfast, pick a cuisine of your
