CRUISE LINE HEALTH & SAFETY ENHANCEMENTS Major U.S. cruise lines are implementing new health policies and safety measures to build upon the very extensive health standards that were already being maintained across the industry. These changes, which surpass airline 3 industry standards, include: Responsible Social Distancing We are advised that cruise lines will resume operations at 40% – 60% occupant capacity to reduce physical contact in all public areas. Increased Sanitization Ships will be sanitized in an effort to continuously meet or exceed the highest cleaning and disinfection standards. Port terminals will also be sanitized continuously and, where possible, fogged before and after embarkation and disembarkation. Pre-Cruise Screening Passengers will be subject to extensive screening prior to embarkation and will be subject to continuous screening on board through regular temperature checks and physical monitoring. Passengers will be screened prior to disembarkation in Port. Medical Resources and Facilities Management Cruise lines have advised that they will increase medical resources including the number of medical personnel aboard each ship, examination facilities, and isolation rooms. Communication Cruise lines remain in constant communication with U.S. public health, cruise port, and international partners to make the reopening of the industry as safe as possible for all stakeholders.
NCPL + LOCAL TOURISM 4 READINESS & RECOVERY HIGHLIGHTS ▪ Nassau Cruise Port (NCPL) has implemented health and safety protocols for its staff, construction team, and port community including more frequent and extensive sanitizing measures, face mask requirement, temperature checks, social distancing, and handwashing reminders. ▪ NCPL is testing all NCPL employees monthly for COVID-19 to determine current and past infection status of its team. ▪ NCPL has enhanced Health & Safety Guidelines and updated operational policies for all employees, port community partners, visitors, tour operators, vendors, and other port stakeholders in accordance with Bahamas Ministry of Health guidelines. ▪ NCPL will maintain regular communication with all employees, port community partners, and industry stakeholders as we navigate the reopening process. ▪ Seaports will reopen to international private vessels on June 15. ▪ Bahamas Government has advised LPIA will reopen to domestic travel on June 8 and to international commercial flights on July 1. ▪ The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism has released its “Tourism Readiness and Recovery Plan” on behalf of the Government of The Bahamas to support a safe reopening for various sectors including hotel operations, food and beverage, transportation services, marinas, seaports, airports and retail operations. ▪ NCPL is advised that select major U.S. cruise lines expect to return to sailing in September. ▪ It is anticipated that the COVID-19 vaccine will be available to the public in early 2021.
WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW 5 CRUISE INDUSTRY COMMITMENT • The cruise industry is the only transport business sector that has made a formal commitment to share health and safety information with the CDC. EFFECTIVENESS OF THERMAL SCANNERS • Thermal scanners can sense elevated skin temperatures and have been found to be most effective in temperature-controlled environments such as at airports, not at outdoor facilities such as cruise port piers. • Based on this information, we will not conduct temperature screenings of cruise passengers arriving at NCPL using thermal scanners. We will use non- contact thermometers to read the temperatures of anyone at the port who displays influenza-like symptoms. DISINFECTION OF EXTERNAL SURFACES • According to the CDC, environmental cleaning should focus on high-touch surfaces such as hand railings, door handles and knobs, sink faucets, and other surfaces that are handled frequently throughout the day by many people. Piers, sidewalks, roads and other external surfaces that are not frequently touched by people’s hands will be subject to general cleaning, but not disinfection as the risk of transmission of disease from these surfaces is very low.

“INFLUENZA-LIKE” SYMPTOMATIC VISITOR MANAGEMENT PROCESS 8 As part of the company’s commitment to the health and safety of employees, visitors and the wider community, NCPL provides RT PCR COVID testing for staff on a monthly basis, maintains an attendance and visitor log and maintains social distance and sanitization protocols. If a cruise passenger, port community member, NCPL employee, or any other person within the port area displays influenza-like symptoms within our facility, we will implement the following CDC-approved five-step process to assist that person and to protect everyone from potential COVID-19 transmission as quickly as possible: STEP 1 INFORM Advise public health authorities, port personnel and other key stakeholders. STEP 2 ISOLATE Promptly isolate the individual within a designated quarantine space. STEP 3 TRACE Conduct a contact tracing investigation in collaboration with public health, cruise line, and other officials to determine who the person interacted with and where they traveled. STEP 4 CLEAN Thoroughly clean all surfaces and spaces that the symptomatic person visited. STEP 5 REPORT Share all information gathered with relevant authorities and others.
