Let’s make this the Decade for Decisive Action.

Theme - Decade For Decisive Action: Designing Our Future 26-27 October 2021 COVID-19 has been identified as the great reset. This provides societies, governments and businesses the opportunity to repair the drawbacks of a system that benefitted a few and exploited many. The devastating economic and societal disruptions caused by the pandemic threaten to reverse years of progress on the Sustainable Development Goals. Businesses can play a leading role in how the world rebuilds amid the pandemic: to rectify the cracks that existed pre-COVID-19 and co-create a better world in which no one is left behind.

Attendee Testimonials 23
“Whilst the COVID-19 pandemic has brought unprecedented challenges both for people and society, it has given businesses the opportunity to “Reset, Reimagine and Rebuild”. This was well resonated throughout the first virtual GCNS Summit 2020. The virtual Summit bridged the gaps of personal interactions by organising several breakout sessions allowing the participants to have dialogues with thought leaders in their field of interest. The diverse background of speakers in the panel discussion encouraged the conversation to encompass the multi- disciplinary, cross-border goals of sustainability. I am thankful to GCNS for facilitating this important conversation and look forward to attending the Summit again next year.” Mr Nirmal Vineeth Menon Senior Engineer Sembcorp Marine Limited
“The GCNS Summit was an interesting learning and networking session that focused on sustainable development. There were several interactive breakout sessions through which participants were given opportunities to select the subject topics they were interested in. ‘A Tangled Web - Overcoming the Challenges in Building Sustainable Supply Chains’ was a very constructive breakout session which addressed the challenges SMEs face in developing a sustainable supply chain, along with the risks associated if such challenges are not appropriately addressed. The other breakout session which I attended was also interesting -"Developing the Workforce of the Future - Utilising Untapped Sources of Manpower" conducted in a Human Library format, in which real people were on loan to participants to share their life experiences. Being a foreigner, I thought the site visits organized by GCNS were also a good experience.” Ms Vajira Karunathilake Head of Quality Assurance, Dilmah Ceylon Tea Company PLC
