Student successes – DMU Fashion student designs a range for TikTok Global social media site TikTok has entered the world of design with its own range of exclusive merchandise, featuring pieces by DMU Contour Fashion student Megan Cornhill. Megan entered a competition set up by TikTok to come up with a design that their influencers would wear. Her drawings for a pleated tennis skirt complete with holster belt accessory were selected as one of a small number of designs from around the country. Megan was put up in London for a week and given £500 prize money, all courtesy of TikTok. She visited the Fashion Enter factory, meeting TikTok bosses, attending workshops and selecting fabrics for her outfits, which have been sent to TikTok influencers as an exclusive piece. Megan said: “One of the TikTok people said they loved the holster and wore it around the factory saying they would love to make something like it. That was really nice feedback to hear.” Megan is continuing her studies at DMU with a master’s degree in Contour Fashion Innovation.
